Not Bentley, we don't need him and he's overated anyway.

Ireland, Keane and Deigo Perez would be my three.

Still think KP Boateng would be a good signing  & add some energy to the Midfield.

Ireland & Keane more or less nailed on now.

KP Boateng is apparantley off to Italy, according to the bloke who's running Pompey at the moment.

Reo shouldn't be going full stop, let alone for £1 million. He was excellent last night.

Not much choice is there? After the way he's been frozen out by the manager he's never going to sign a new contract

Other than L. Young (I'd prefer Beye or even Lichaj - Young dives in so much it's ridiculous) that's the team I'd play.

NRC showed last night why he has so many supporters, and detractors.Energetic, quick, competative, and a lack of ability when he gets the ball.Did 1 good pass last night, and unfortunately thats not enough. No where near as good as Delph, nor Flamini.

£1m is cheap, but i get the impression we need to reduce our wages, and so would'nt surprise me if he goes.

Was a big fan of NRC, but has never developed for me, it happens, move on.

Re. NRC, he's the type of player a team needs for certian games and as part of a squad.

I think a) MON and him aren't the best of mates and b) he's on the 'get rid of if he's not in the starting X1 as he costs a lot to keep' club.

I have always rated hm myself and should realise at least £4 million if the likes of Gardner was sold for £3.5m.

Hard to believe some are still hoping MON will sign a player like Flamini in fact anyone who's not playing in Britain.

I fully agree - If we do let him go cheaply to save on wages it tells us more about the state of finances within the club. It would also suggest we cannot afford the inflated wages of better quality players.

Are we about to re-enter another phase of Dougonomics?

Yes I would love Boateng, would be an upgrade on NRC for me. Has all of NRC's qualities plus a much better eye for a pass and a goal..

Apart from the mega-wealthy clubs, not many teams can afford to pay top wages for players who never get a game. I would not rule us out paying top wages to a regular starter, but RAL must wonder why big earners like NRC never get a game. There were a number of games last season when we were crying out for somebody like NRC in midfield, instead we got Emile/Carew type meaningless substitutions. My own view is that NRC should stay and be untilised properly however, that's a bit too much to expect and I can understand the Club's reluctance to pay a couple of million per year for a player that doesn't get a chance.

He'll always have detractors while people expect him to excel at everything; if he possessed all those qualities as well as being excellent on the ball, Barca wouldn't have spent the last two years chasing Cesc Fabregas.

No question NRC is no wizard on the ball, but used right, he's well worth a place in our squad or even starting line-up. I watched him closely against Valencia. He played exactly the role he should be asked to play - at times sitting slightly deeper than Petrov, he won the ball no end of times and made a simple pass to a Villa man. He wasn't there to split defences (though played one very cute through ball to let Heskey in, it being Heskey, of course nothing came of it....)

In the context of our squad, right now, Reo-Coker MUST stay. Unless MON has three new central midfielders lined up, we can't let him go while Delph is out, Milner's leaving and Sidwell's still here (with no replacement in).
