Hopefully missing out on McGeady will make him take a chance on Hleb? Doubt it though.

Still, I'd be happy enough with Ireland and Keane. But be dissapointed if we didn't try for Flamini and Hleb.

Ailsa! Ha!

Grauniad's The Fiver have been calling him this for a long time.
Birmingham were Bongo FC until the porn-peddlers moved off to (what they now call) Wrist Ham.

Is it just me that thinks Hughes is a terrible manager?

His Blackburn sides were the dirtiest elbow merchants in the league, he did very little ( with very much) at Man City, he's a dour, uninspiring, lucky, fat-arsed ex Man U player. I hate him and hope he gets sacked by Fulham very soon

I'd go along with that.

To be fair to Hughes he had an unlimited budget so if he wanted to spend over the odds he could, but i guess they are stuck with quite a few players that no-one wants on massive wages which could never happen at Villa.

Hang on...

But you said he had a reliable judgement of a players ability. Now you're backtracking.

No i'm not. I do think he has a reliable judgement on players but paid over the odds for them and as he said this week he didn't sign half of them.  I'd say they'll have an easier time getting rid of RSC and the rest, than if they had a 18m Harewood or 20m Heskey to offload

Harewood and Heskey cost £38m? Bloody hell!

They would have if MON was in charge at Citeh. In fact, they'd be bracing themselves about now for breaking the world record fee paid for an Irishman

If Martin was in charge of Man City he'd have signed Messi and Kaka.

Making up hypothetical shit about what he would do as Man City manager is a game we can all play.

Rosicky being linked to Galatasaray. Again, exactly the type of player we need.

Always thought Rosicky looked better for his country than he did for Arsenal, but I'd be tempted at the right price.

Except we all know how Martin works. He doesn't really do foreign based players here or at Celtic or anywhere, so you could safely discount messi and co.

Yes, he's a decent player. Always up for it and bags of ability.

If mon was manager of City he'd still buy shite like Harewood and Heskey and say.."I don't want to bankrupt the club"

You're right - it would have been Rooney and Gerrard!

He looks like a junkie, expect to see him outside New St with a skinny dog asking for 50p for a cup of tea.

Judging from the world cup, he'd be in there like a shot

Can't blame him Greg, young is a class player, sidwell isn't!

I know, but its still annoying. Damm pesky Hughes and his reliable judgement of a player's ability :0(

* spot on *

Hmm, this is the man who paid £12m for Bridge, £18m for Jo and £22m for Lescott.

I like a man that wastes more of man shittys money  ;-D
