Yup. Petrov was a passenger for his first 2 seasons and he started every game!

Whilst I agree and think at this stage of our 'Proud history, Bright Future' revolution, we should be looking to cash in whilst Stan's still worth a few bob.The problem is there will be too many additions to the squad this summer and we'll end up selling Petrov next summer for next to nothing, probably to a Bulgarian team.

He's served us very well and is a class player but the team needs to constantly evolve but never mind, he'll still do a decent job for us for one more season and afterall, it's only money.

2007-08 - started 22 games

in two seasons missed 24 games

16 days till the season starts and we've got no-one in, and the possibility of losing 7-8 players by then. I know MON prefers the chaotic method of transfer dealing but he's really set the bar high this year.

This.

Central midfield last season was Petrov, Milner, Sidwell, NRC and Delph.  With Delph injured and two of the others VERY likely to go, can we really afford to sell Petrov?  We buy a younger model and phase him in and Stan out.  Bearing in mind the dramatic changes we can expect to that part of the side I think he's worth more to us that even the reported £7m!!

Wouldn't have it any other way!
Besides we've got the players to start the season, a few quality additions by the end of August and we're sorted!
