Shame as I struggle to see who we can get in at right back who is equally as good at the back and getting forward.

Alan Hutton?

Of the gettable UK based right backs Hutton is one of the better ones. However, he's not as solid defensively as Luke. Excellent going forward mind.

I'd think about Clyne at Palace too.

Luke would be well liked at anfield and rightly so- our loss and their gain.

I'd be happy with SWP. I think he'd fit in to our team nicely.

What about Matthews at Cardiff? Or maybe one of the Kyles is unhappy at Spurs?

As I said on the other thread giving Lichaj a shot might not be the worst thing.

I saw him once and I was surprised at how well he played. Mind the next time I saw him he was pretty poor.

No thanks, had about two decent CL games on the telly about two years ago and was suddenly the next big thing. Useless. And ugly with it. Wouldn't touch Wright-Phillips either, the very definition of a headless chicken. He's not quite so ugly but super thick, even as footballers go...

what is the point of buying a young RB when we have Lichaj if MON believes he is any good

so do we actually buy an experienced one, I am doubting that

Lowry may be the cover for Left Back

Wright-Philips is, actually a bit like NRC. They both make these fantastic breaks, either through skill and pace or power and pace respectively, and then have no idea what to do next and give it away, making the excellent break pointless.

I'd not be too unhappy if we gave some of the young players a chance ahead of a new signing. I'm thinking about Albrighton, Bannan, Clark, Delfoueso,  Lichaj, Lowry and Weimann in particular. For that. Why can't they provide the cover and squad depth for certain positions?

Weimann might be the joker. We already know about the Fonz but Weimann looks to be having a strong pre-season and he is rated very highly by the youth coaches.

Swp could be a great success if mon could get the best out of him- very much a confidence player, would give downing a kick up the arse too.

On the bright side SWP does always seem to have his best games of the season at VP

Doesn't Hutton have some off-field issues?
