From a sheer ego perspective, I don't think Man U could ever accept an unwanted Man City player.  Liverpool might be a possibility, but I can't see him fitting too well in the same team as Gerrard.

I think we'll get him if we want him.

I think if Liverpool had money to spend they wouldn't have appointed papa Hodgson and if they sell Torres to City it will be for cash only as they really need it. But you never know.

Man Utd? I could see Fergie taking a Man City "reject". His ego wouldn't allow it even if it would be a good move.

No, I think Irelands best offer will be from the mighty Aston Villa and he'll be pleased to team up with his bessie mate Dunne. He'll also go down a storm here I think.
I hope he comes whether Milner leaves or not. Preferably not.

SWP, well, he's not terrible and for a squad player he'd be alright if the fee was neglible.

RSC. He's just worry me as I think he's very injury prone. On his day he's a great player but how many days would he have? We have one great season to go on. Again, for a neglible fee it could be interesting but I'd hope we'd look at a more "sure thing". Including Robbie Keane.

EDIT: Seems like we're on the same page, John. Thus, you are righteous.

I'd be keen to check out RSC on loan, see if he can last the pace first and foremost.

What he offers would be different to all the forwards currently on our books.

But if they were looking for a fee anywhere near what they laid out last summer I'd tell them to get facked.

What about Bellamy ?

Surely a good option woudl be to swap Jimmy for Ireland and Bellamy plus cash ?

I would value Ireland at £10 mill / Bellamy at £8 mill, so if Jimmy is valued at £25 mill - we'd get both plus £7 mill.

That, to me, would be good business.

It just seems to me that the world has decided that Milner is going to Man City and Ireland is coming to Villa Park as part of the deal. But there's no real evidence to support this view. Not even a whiff.

Bellamy, no. I think he'll start deteriorating now and I'd rather he didn't do that with us.

He's a good player and he might have one really good season left in him. The problem is he'll want a three or four year contract on £70k per week so he'd be a massive drain on resources.

I'm sure I read quotes from Stephen Ireland recently saying "Sunderland and Fulham are interested, maybe even Aston Villa."

Mysterious Ways over on VT and his Citeh equivalent have both said we're keen, but that it's likely to be a separate deal probably later into the summer.

I thought we had it confirmed from a top source that heskey was on £65k a week , that's £3 m a year in wages - what a joke!

If he sees out his contract heskey will have earned £12m in wages from Aston villa - and we wonder why we can't spend on players?
