Bellamy is too injury prone and I remember someone posted a few months back that they were chatting to him in Cardiff and he told them he would play for mon again but he wouldn't play for villa!

Robbie keane is the better option.

Bellemy would be a terrible buy for us.

Why do you say that? he was Citeh's best player last season and could definitely do a good job for us.

31, biggest asset is pace and has dodgy knees, would want a long contract and big wages.

Steer well clear, IMO.

You forgot 'horrible c***'.

Nail on head Percy, horrible little man. It no co-incidence he's had so many clubs. If he came to us he'd probably be off in 6months to Stoke or similar.... No thanks.

Why don't we go for players on the up or at their peak?

Any idea when the squad numbers are out, it's gotta be pretty soon hasn't it?

I wonder if we're keeping the number 9 free or Delfouneso might be rewarded with it?

I'm going to look at this in a completely unbiased manner now.

McGeady is a two footed player, with a decent if not Ash or Gabby like turn of pace. He has some tricks and always tends to try to take on and beat a man and punish a marker for leaving him some too much space. He also in my opinion has a bit more flair than our current wingers indeed I think he could play the central of the three free roles in a 4-2-3-1 or behind the striker in a 4-4-1-1. If we want to use the traditional idea of having two players for every position within the squad we do need another winger

Now lets get a bit biased and look at the negative.

However, his crossing ability and indeed general end product is not good enough for a top level winger. If you watch the videos on you tube it is mostly turns and tricks with crosses and goals being largely absent. He is a bit too lightweight and hits the deck faster than a sailor who didn't see a wet floor sign. He also under Strachan had a record of causing trouble both through disputes with the manager and with trendy local nightspots. However, I wouldn't really think this would be much of an issue with it probably being blown out of all proportion by the Glasgow media. He also has a face I find exceptionally punchable.

There is a risk with buying players from the SPL. As a league it is well a bit shit. McGeady is every bit as outstanding in it as Steve Davis and Shaun Maloney have been both of whom we have experience of. If you think of the videos where he's pulling all these turns and tricks the full back is giving him too much space. Would Patrice Evra or Ashley Cole do that? He hasn't shone much in Europe and indeed I think though I'm not sure that until last season he hadn't played in an Old Firm league match Celtic had won and believe me Rangers have been utterly shit for years. For my money he wasn't even the best winger in the league last season with Craig Conway and Jim O'Brien advancing far more convincing claims.

Genuinely I wouldn't be happy if we signed him but the lad has some talent and so there's scope for me to be wrong and if we sign him I dearly hope I am. I'd far prefer we went from another winger who plays in a top level European league rather than a level more similar to a match against Man City Elites at the Bescot. Someone like Bentley, Lee or N'Zogbia who could be gettable for a similar fee.

You forgot to mention he's been kept out of the Ireland side by that lad from Stoke. He's a one trick pony and the chances of him improving his crossing at Villa are nil.

Avoid.

Get Ireland in the Milner deal and add Van Der Wiel, Flamini and Hleb.

We'd have two fullbacks capable of providing width and getting forward. Petrov sitting as the pivot. Flamini, Hleb Ireland and Ashley rotating behind Gabby.

I'm sure he likes 14 because of the relation to Henry!

Don't know if it has been mentioned but anyone think Bullard would be a good shout for 1 year loan? Would give us that extra bit of flare. Injury prone i know but you can always send him back. Don't normally like loan deals but it makes sense for 1 year to both clubs
IMO

It makes less sense when you consider the wages he'll want. For a player with dodgy knees at 31 and seemingly more interested in minting it, nah. Best leave him to his cheeky-chappy, normal fella routine and Head & Shoulders adverts.

He'll only fall awkwardly in the first game and be put out for three months.

Hull won't play him in their pre-season games for fear he'll get injured and it's got to the point that Celtic are the only ones who want him and they can't stretch to his ludicrous wage demands.

For some reason the loan market is one that MON has rarely used but its one that he may use more if rumours of the tightening of the belts is true.....he could go to Man Utd for Wellbeck, Citeh for Wiess, Arsenal for Gibbs or a right back (im sure they have one spare)
