Telegraph Transfers List

Blackburn have signed 1 player.

Reading through that, there's not a lot I'd say we've missed out on.  I would have taken Benayoun and at £10.4m Chamakh, but with a CL club involved it was unlikely.  Basically, I think all out targets are still up for grabs!

I don't think it is so much the thought that we've missed out on targets that people are worried about, as the fact that we've not started our signings (whoever they may be).

Every summer there tends to be one signing that sets off a domino effect. Milner will be the catalyst this year, I think.

Citeh have a number of players they want/need to get shot of. But they're in a fortunate position where they can largely get the players they want in first.

I expect some movement on the Milner deal later this week. Then the likes of Ireland and co come in to play.

Tottingham will be waiting on who they can bring in first up top too, as they'll be reasonably confident they can shift Keane at any point in the window. A risky strategy if he picks up a knock in one of their pre season games.

But Milner/ Ballotelli and whoever the fcuk else > Citeh in next two weeks or so means there will be more of an onus on them to move on the likes of Ireland, RSC and Bellamy.

Bellamy to Tottenham makes a fair bit of sense, meaning Keane to us or An.Other.

Can't see any club paying a decent fee for RSC due to his injury record. But as a loan option I'm sure he'd have his takers.

I'm guessing Man City are not going to find it too simple shifting some of their players because of the obscene wages they'll have them on.

As I said with our players likely to go on high wages, there would normally be some form of 'golden handshake' involved.  But ultimately it goes down to the player's desire to play football.

I'd take Santa cruz on a years loan deal, city won't be too worried if they can't move players out as they have no problem paying their wages, but there will be acfew rich pickings to be had.

Dunne eagar to see McGeady and Keane at Villa

Man City attacker Bellamy has Tottenham, Aston Villa offers

Southampton go for Vassell

Do you think Dunne want's to be captain next year? He's voicing his opinions enough. I don't want that Mcgeady at Villa at all

Ballotelli. Yep, there's a well-considered, risk-free signing. Nice, down to earth sort of chap who should have absolutely no difficulty adapting to a new country and culture, nor sitting on the bench awaiting his chance. I'm sure this'll work out.

Honestly, Inter probably can't believe their luck. Around £30m for a player Mourinho rated as "close to zero" after one particularly bad performance? That amount for a petulant child who is constantly having fights with the management and players, whom Dejan Stankovic described as "a child"? What a result for Inter.

Edit: notice his agent has actually denied this has happened. However, it seems it will, and there's no doubt Man City are interested, so their guilty of stupid targeting anyway.

Dunne getting captaincy is a big step I think, it makes for opportunities in Petrovs position.  What if McGeady is a good player?

Ballotelli on huge money, in an unfamiliar country, dressing room full of egos, only manager he's ever liked in constant danger of the sack (not that he liked him enough to not throw his toys out of the pram at every possible occasion), almost certain to spend plenty of time on the bench - it's about the worst idea anyone's ever had. Why don't they just sign Cassano and Edmundo and make the circle of dressing-room destroyers complete?
