The way things are shaping up, I am inclined to concur with your to the point analysis. I am getting to the point where I think I would crack a bottle of champagne if we were even rumoured to be interested in a big name, never mind sign one. That in itself would appear to be progress against the dross we are currently linked with...

I think the whole thing is overplayed.

Most clubs will have a limit to how many players they can sustain at one one time, we're probably around our upper level now so we will naturally have to let a few go if we want to bring in others. You can't just keep adding numbers each season.

Correct. Sell before you buy dose'nt just mean bringing in transfer money to enable you to purchase someone else (which of course helps) but more often than not, it means getting people off the wage bill before you add to it.
