They were only linked in the event of Torres going for 70 million though weren't they? At which point 35 million on Dzeko would leave them up.

Huntelaar, Keane, Ireland and Bentley and I would be delighted with our summer business. Add Onourha too, and keep Reo Coker.

Make a nice team.

                                     Friedel

Onohua................Collins....................Dunne............Warnock

              NRC.....................................Petrov/Delph

   Bentley....................Keane/Ireland....................AYoung

                         Gabby/Huntelar

I could live with that, maybe with a bit more so spending on at least 1 more defensive midfielder, but not a bad young team.

The problem is who's going to pay more than 45-50m for torres after this worlld cup?  Especially considering that Villa went for something closer to 30m and has been the star striker in that spain team for 2 years.

On top of that Liverpool aren't going to let Roy spend everything they get from sales as they've got some fairly critical debts to pay off so I can't see them signing anyone too expensive as they pretty much need to rebuild the squad, especially if Gerrard and Mascherano leave as well.

I'd be happy with Bentley for 8m, there's definitely some ability in there, he just needs a kick up the arse to get his head right.

The major problem is that he's trying to hard to act like a celebrity, getting him out of London again would be a good start.

With the links over the weekend I'd be happy with:

Ireland - 8m
Huntelaar - 10-12m
Bentley - 8m
Aurelio - free
Annan (I know we've not been linked) - 8m

I'd reckon none of those fees are going to be far off, so about £35m, 25 in from Milner and at least 10m from other sales (I'd try to keep NRC, Davies and Young and sell sidwell, shorey, heskey and beye).  We'd end up with a similar size squad to now but with a lot more quality in it.

Isn't Annan the bloke that used to run the UN? He sounds far too foreign for O'Neill.

The only truth in the Mirror item about being offered Huntelaar, is Villa taking their time over signing the player.

MON: Jan-Klass, I've made my mind up. Fancy joining us?

Huntelaar: Err, no. It's now 1st September, transfer window closed last night  and I've signed for Spurs.

Ireland and £15m for Milner. £6m on Keane will leave £9m, if you add the £3m from Sidwell that leaves us £12m to find a top striker which aint going to be easy. For me If we can off load Heskey and get Carew to agree a new 2 year deal I like the look of Rodellaga from Wigan.

McGeady,Jenas,Bentley and Keane, isn't this just lazy journalists as this is probably the second or third summer we've been linked in the papers with these players.

I'd be praying that they're true about Heskey and Sidwell, can't see anyone wanting to pay much for those two though.

KLAAS-JAN HUNTELAAR has been offered to Aston Villa.

This is about as beliavable as when Kluivert was rumoured to be going to Villa years ago. There is no way on this Earth that MON would would try and sign him, doesnt tick any of his boxes.

Well the links are getting slightly better at least.

Yes to Huntelaar, Keane, Bentley, Ireland.
I find it odd that we've been offered Huntelaar but if so we should say a big fat yes please to him. I know he has his doubters but he's a natural finisher and no weakling so could thrive in the premier league. He's been a player Ive liked for years.

I dont think there's room or a need for him and Keane though unless Carew and Heskey are off. So due to his age and arguably better finishing, I would prefer Huntelaar.
