Of course. But ask yourself, who has the better record when it comes to just making things up? Plus I read that Mirror article, at no point does it say "instead of James Milner". If anything, it could be read as saying "as well as James Milner".

I might be in a minority here but I'd sell Milner in a heartbeat (puts on tin hat!!!), I love his attitude but still feel his game is 80% running around 20% quality...from day one I've liked the idea of cash plus Stephen Ireland for Milner
my thoughts exactly

Oh no, what will we do if Man City dont buy Milner? This is potentially disasterous as all our planning revolves around selling our best players.

If that is the case then explain how Milner ended up with the 4th most assists with only Lampard, Fabregas and Drogba in front of him ?

Milner would be a massive loss to Villa and you only have to hope MON can replace him either by change of system or by probably two other players

I wouldn't hold your breath for that one.

I think we're more likely to sell him and replace him with mediocre dross like McGeady.

Oh right, "they're all the same", forgot. However, Greg, their readerships are totally different, and people who read the Guardian, say, are far less likely to be interested or taken in by clearly made-up rumours with no quotes. It's notable that whenever there is a rumour published in the Guardian it tends to have truth in it, like the Milner thing they got before most others, unlike practically everything ever published in the Mirror or the News of the World.

The Guardian are usually good with Villa stuff, as Kevin McCarra is MON's mate.

think you're overestimating the guardian readership. its just the same as the sun but with a posher typeface. no doubt they believe they're less gullible....  all of them are comics :0)

Liverpool chase Ashley Young

As if they've got any money.

It is a sad state that a workhorse like Milner is our best player!
I can not see how Mancini is looking at Arteta  and it's either/or trade off  with Milner? Arteta is an artisan however  sadly unlikely to play much more football due  to his physical condition.

really with comments and obviously your view over Milner I wonder how we can watch the same player so differently ?

Do workhorses create more goals than most in the PL ?

if we do end up with some duffer like keane then we'll certainly need someone in midfield who can score. think milner was our top finisher  with 7 and a few of them were penalties
