Keane and Rodallega would be good.

Carew or Heskey can go then.

Expect this one to run until MON leaves Villa or Keane retires, whichever is sooner.

Even before he got injured he had only scored four goals. Not a huge amount for someone who is supposedly a natural finisher.

A total of six goals in forty-one games is Heskey-esque.

All I'll say in defence of that is, a lot of games on the bench, and a lot of games played wide left too. His first season, he seemed a bit of a cup specialist. Scored 12 in all comps I think.

I wouldn't say he'd be a 20 goal striker by any means, but I do think he's got the ability to come deep and make things happen.

I'm still not convinced though. Keane may be a slightly safer bet. But Eduardo potentially could be brilliant.

Pretty much how I see it aswell.  Eduardo has great ability, but is not yet proven to be a reliable frontman over a 38 game PL season, which Keane is.  And even if he does fulfill his potential, he'd be doing VERY well to better Keane's overall goals to games ratio.

Fuck it - sign 'em both to be on the safe side!!

But RK wants too much cash..  Thats what I know..

And hence why transfer deals drag out.  If we sign him late it'll be "Martin dragging his heels again" and if we sign him soon it'll be "Why on earth are we paying him that much?"

On this one I hope MON drags his heels into February 2011 and we never sign the bloke.  We are not going to win the league with Keane so I would rather not win it without him.

There must be so many better value for money options.  I'd prefer to see the Fonz play in that role and to repeat myself from other topics I'd play Young behind Gabby and we buy a winger instead or use Albrighton.

FWIW I would rather have Eduardo than Keane.  I just don't rate Keane enough given the money he's after...and there's a reason for him having so many clubs already...

looks like city have finalised the other Toure.  City absolutely mugged if its anywhere near the 25+ million they were talking about before.

I heard £32m. Which is hilarious.

Just hope De Jong is up for grabs and maybe part of the Milner deal.

Just how many midfielders are City hoping to have in their squad next season?  Too many for LardArse to get in I hope

Really? Not a De Jong fan, bit of a talentless kicker in my view. Plus I'm not entirely sure we do swaps, there's not much point in them.

I think thats something we miss though Monty, a bit of bite in the midfield. As much as Milner and Petrov are good players, neither of them have a crunching tackle in them. Sometimes last season I think we needed some solidity in the midfield and perhaps sacrificed either one of the above. Perhaps its not pretty, but it can be effective. De Jong is one on my wishlist for sure

I would take De Jong and Ireland for JM in a heartbeat.  De Jong is the type of nasty bastard we are desperately missing, and you don't make the dutch team by being shit either.
