Young brings nothing to the International side, others more experienced don't and his inconsistency with crossing is a big hindrance to him.

Rubbish. His crossing is better than the more experienced SWP and the less experienced Lennon. Capello gambled on their greater pace but in hindsight might have been better going for our man's better technique.

Not sure about Lennon being less experienced. He's now got two World Cups under his belt.

I think Adam Johnson has more right to feel aggrieved at being left at home as he was one of the better performers for England in the warm up games.

Barnetta seems a decent player on the few occasions I've seen him and he can play centrally as well. Would be a decent signing.

Parker I think he's an excellent player and would do well in the short term but that's it in the short term and a £10million fee plus £50K per week for three years would not be the best investment. If we replace Petrov with Parker we will be in the situation of replacing an aging player again in a year or two. Plus, I doubt Martin will drop Petrov and so we will have them both playing together.

Eduardo... At a reasonable price he could be a decent signing... If he can re-establish some form he will be an absolutely fantastic signing. Would prefer him to Keane if I'm honest.

As to the crossing comment I beg to differ as any recent viewing of SWP's games will prove, but who am I to argue your exalted opinion, oh mighty one.

He gambled on Milner's ability and work rate, or did you miss that ? Wouldn't be surprised if you had'

I'm with the mighty one on this, Young is a far superior crosser of the ball than SWP.

SWP can't even cross the road.

I don't think any side would sign him or pick him for his delivery, which has always quite frankly been gash. But at his best he is capable of going on mazy runs, drawing defenders to him and opening up sides that way.

Ash- for all the criticism he receives- is capable of that and putting in a telling ball. The radar might be out on occasion (far too many occasions last year), but he gets it right often enough to still be a major threat. Why do you think sides still double up on him?

Far superior all round mate. I'm shocked how a player as limited as SWP has amassed the transfer values that he has??

Young should be very disappointed in himself that he didn't perform consistently well enough to get into that squad above Lennon and SWP.

A few more links to Eduardo.

I think he'd be a younger and cheaper version of Keane.  If he can rediscover his pre-injury form form then he'd be a better player too.

If he could get his pre injury touch back he would be sensational.

Comes equipped with a song too, although it'd need rewording as 'he scores more goals than Darren Bent' is neither true or relevant.

At the moment he makes Downing look like Vinnie Jones when it comes to commitment and bravery. In part understandable after nearly having his leg taken clean off by Taylor, but still. It's a worry. Sign him and get him his own personal hypnotist.

Lets hope Blues re-sign Marcus Bent then.

I don't think Zigic scans.

Anybody think Eduardo would want to come to the Villa? Didn't our fans sing some cringe worthy chants about his injury? Apologies if i am wrong?

Even before he got injured he had only scored four goals. Not a huge amount for someone who is supposedly a natural finisher.

A total of six goals in forty-one games is Heskey-esque.

All I'll say in defence of that is, a lot of games on the bench, and a lot of games played wide left too. His first season, he seemed a bit of a cup specialist. Scored 12 in all comps I think.

I wouldn't say he'd be a 20 goal striker by any means, but I do think he's got the ability to come deep and make things happen.

I'm still not convinced though. Keane may be a slightly safer bet. But Eduardo potentially could be brilliant.
