Milner will be sitting at home now, checking his wage slip and who is coming in at City and no doubt packing his bags.

I'd forgotten about him. Only thing I will say is that they're signing a few like-for-like sorts.... combative central midfielder Nigel De Jong? Let's get combative central midfielder Yaya Toure! Attacking left winger Adam Johnson? Let's get attacking left winger David Silva! They'll have plenty of strength in depth and options, put it that way.

Interesting to see whether Barry will be a bench-warmer next season. You almost hope that's the case...

No, I 100% hope that's the case.

All I'll say, and I'm clutching at straws here, is sometimes you can sign one too many big name players, all earning a bit too much easy money.

We'll see how they all gel together. I don't think we can catch them now sadly, but I don't see them pushing the top two yet. Especially if they keep chopping and changing every year, squad or manager, looking for quick success.

The German lad Boateng, David Silva and Milner already in the bag - City are going to be some force next season. And I bet they haven't finished yet.

Yaya Toure aswell Merv

They can buy who they like but they still have to play as a team.Read England

I really hope it goes tits up for them

It's pretty much what happened last year:-

Summer 2009 and Mark Hughes buys all the players he wants.  In the time it was taking for them to gel and him to decide on his best team/blend, the results were not what the owners expected and he gets the sack.

12 months on and does the process repeat itself?

Oh, I agree, Tom. It's like fantasy football at City and I suspected this would happen this summer - Mancini's first proper opportunity to spend monopoly money and he'll take the squad Hughes created apart. It's exciting for their fans but City need to give Mancini time to make it all work. Once he's done spending £100m plus this summer he's got to deliver. If it's not looking great by Christmas, well....

Clutching at straws too, I know. But what else can we do?

As a lot of others have said; if Milner has any sense he'll be looking at who Man City sign and think to himself "am I going to get first-team football?"

When he realises he'll primarilly be used as a back-up he'll probably stay at Villa.

Saying that, as our sources have already said he's already agreed a deal.

Wrong move, Mr Milner, wrong move indeed.

Man City can simply outbid everyone, as for us we cannot sign any A-list players or players to get us into the Champions league,as much as we would love that to happen we have to be realitsic, we will need to sign better players just to keep us where we are now.
All clubs will wait for Man Citeh and pick up the scraps afterwards.

Ok, say for instance a Sheik came in for us, ie Sheik Rattlenrole who has billions to potentially spend on our team, would you as a fan rather have a complete overhaul of fantasy footballers, or a fine tuning?

I may be in the minority, but I'd prefer the same positions I think are important now (striker, defensive mid, extra winger and a right back) and build it at a more natural pace.  I would be expecting the best in the world in those positions, though!!

Tuning.

Many players work their tits off to get into a Premier League team. I think they deserve their place. City will purchase players and play them leaving almost no chance of younger people getting in.

This is why English football is getting so bad.

They need to cap the amount of foreign players, and also cap the amount that can be spent in the transfer windows.
