Walcott agreed is a much better option but I would expect arsenal to value him at £20m ish if they did sell him , and I doubt they would.

Swp as part of the milner deal would be much more gettable, but wouldn't value him over £8m tops.

Anyone who pays 20m for Walcott should check themselves into the nearest correctional facility as soon as possible for their own mental protection.

And SWP at 8m? Crikey.

Maz, Watch this space, Milner will leave this summer.

Right so, I'll wait and see.
But you're guessing. You dont know he's definitely off.

Ireland is a player we should try and insist as part of any milner deal first and foremost, in all honesty city have several  decent players we could ask about, Santa cruz, Richards., bellamy, to name but 3 and it depends if mon fancies them.

There is great potential to get one or two of their players as part of any deal .

Completely agree. Quick but with absolutely no technique, balance or skill. Very English indeed......

Now that would make sense, but losing Milner and getting Ireland wouldnt in my opinon anyway. You couldn't play Petrov and Ireland together

Richards for me is a good call, pacy, raw and got potential.  Shaun Shite Philips?, not so keen on.  I think Ireland could come in to our team, but I would prefer we looked more closely at DeJong.  Big, pacy, can tackle AND pass, like a bigger version of Petrov mated to Reo Coker.

I wouldn't play Milner and Petrov together in a two myself.

The midfield three is the way to go. I don't know why Martin doesn't use it more often. It hasn't really let us down.

Ireland or indeed Milner in front of Petrov and a better version of Reo-Coker would be some midfield.

I agree. As I say in my post above we need a player who is a better Reo-Coker and De Jong looks like my kind of answer to that question. Admittedly there are a few on here who aren't so keen on him.

Richards would be a good signing. I've had my eye on him the last few summers and we do need a right back if Beye and Luke Young leave.

Player swaps are rare but if we signed those three in exchange for Milner our squad will look much stronger and we'll fill in a few positions where we are week. A few million on top and it's a deal.

I would've hoped that Petrov is going to be a squad player at best this season. Far too negative, like a Bulgarian Ray Wilkins. I'd love to see us a bit bolder going forward but I suppose that just isn't MON's style.

The main reason I didn't renew last year was because I took voluntary, now I'm working again I can't bring myself to part with the cash because.....we're just so bloody dull!

Petrov's been a decent, solid top half PL player, no more, no less, but he's one of the ones we should be looking at improving on this summer.

Why not try and get De Jong and Ireland as part of the Milner deal.  In fact with those two in a midfield 3 I think we'd be a pretty solid and creative unit.  Spend any extra cash on an upgrade on downing (i.e. more of a goal threat).

Milner wants to go though Maz. However deep the sand is it is not going to change that.

Ireland would be the best player from City to get as he is a goal threat from midfield, but would we have to play 4-5-1 to accomodate him? I think we should, but MON will not be flexible with 4-4 f***ing 2 so if Ireland is going to cause us to be run straight through alongside Petrov, who MON won't drop in a  month of sundays, then we may be better getting the 30 million and finding a midfield player who can do both roles.
