4-5-1

Gabby up

Wright Phillips and Young playing off him

Reo Coker Petrov holding and Downing moved central
Woudl need a couple more central midfielders when Sidwell goes, but it would be a hell of a side on the counter!

We do have scouts and they are looking for promising players from all over the place.
We have some at the club already in the academy/reserve sides and we're definitely after more. Europeans, Americans, Aussies... etc

South Koreans...?

The Independent

Quote
Aston Villa have expressed an interest in South Korea international Cho Yong-hyung, according to the player's agent.

The central defender played in all four games at the World Cup as the Taeguk Warriors reached the last 16 for the first time on foreign soil.

Cho, 26, currently plays for Korean side Jeju United but his performances for his country have attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe according to Yoon Ki-yeon of the player's agency Inspokorea.

"Aston Villa and a few other European clubs have shown interest in Cho," he said in The Korea Herald."I can confirm that he is on their transfer list and I expect the official deal will be made after the World Cup."

Not that I want to second guess, but 'd asume this player isn't gnna be a giant, by any stretch. I think it's fair to assume, if Martin was gonna sign a CB, it'd be someone, safely over 6ft. Thre's a few of th Korean team I wouldn't mind from further up te pitch.

He's the Monaco lad isn't he?

I'd imagine he's plan B to Keane.

That's a lot weaker than we are currently, essentially SWP in for big JC and NRC in for Milner, no thanks.

Guy at work with contacts (Yes they all do) has told me that Milner is going to city and we are getting SWP as part of the deal.

I hope its bollocks because I don't rate him at all.

Don't see it happening, but must pass bollocks on!

nooooooooooo.... jesus, he must be the worse crosser of the ball in the premiership.

The only reason it is worth us buying Wright-Phillips would be to stop him having his one brilliant game per year against us.

We should buy Choo Choo Train from the Korean team. He's never runs out of steam.

Swp with the right manager could be a decent player- I remember mon being linked with him on loan a few yrs ago.

He has lost his way in recent times but is the kind of player I can see flourishing under mon as he seems to be a confidence player and I wouldn't totally discount this one.

If SWP was still young perhaps, but he's 28 now. I'd rather try for Walcott. He could be a class act if he can get some games.

I'd have SWP as a very cut price sweetner. Otherwise forget it. Agree that I'd much rather have Walcott and think Wenger might be tempted and hopefully the player too. He's not exactly guaranteed a start at Arsenal.

I know he's not exactly Beckham either with the crossing but he could be very effective with us.
I'd be looking at Bentley too. The ponce.

Walcott agreed is a much better option but I would expect arsenal to value him at £20m ish if they did sell him , and I doubt they would.

Swp as part of the milner deal would be much more gettable, but wouldn't value him over £8m tops.

Ireland would be more value to us than SWP,why do you want another right winger when we have Young & Albrighton? A centre mid replacement is what we need as Milner is definately leaving & Delph is inj.

That's why I said SWP as a very cut price makeweight. I mean practically for nothing.

Young I would rather keep at left wing and although we might not bother, if we're going to get another winger it should be a right winger. That way you have Downing and Young for the left, Albrighton and whoever for the right.

I dont know where you heard Milner is definitely leaving. I must have missed that one but whether he does or not we need central midfielders, of course.
