I know it is all about opinions but I can't believe anyone thinks Altidore would be a decent signing.

A little like Heskey - all the physical attributes to be a Drogba type, but actually just shit.

I was thinking more or less the same thing. Funnily enough, they did miss him when he went off.

Have been massively impressed with Annan all theway through so far, does all the defensive work well but what has impressed me most is that I don't think I've seen him give the ball away once in 3 games.

Would like to see Dempsey in a Villa shirt too.

To be fair the kid is only 20, I think he has the potential to develop into a pretty decent player.

I rather sign Gyan the Centre Forward from Ghana than Altidore. Altidore is a younger Heskey. One goal for Hull last season.

I agree that we should have a look at Gyan, he is only at Rennes so would fancy coming to the PL.

Fast, strong, skillful - whats not to like. Imagine him playing just off Big John and ripping defences apart.

TBH quite a few of the Ghana players look good fits for us - if only MON would look outside the PL. Inkoo looked excellent last night as well.

I see De Jong is likely to leave City according to the press. He would be an excellent signing as the defensive midfield player.

I rate him, He's not really had a decent go there, They paid well over the odds as well so they may want to re-coup some.

I would be really unimpressed if we didnt get Ireland to be honest

I agree. If there's going to be players coming our way in the deal, then Ireland and De Jong would be good additions.

The only reason i mentioned Altadore is because of his age, his potential, and his price.

He is 2/3 years younger than Gabby, would only cost £1m?, and listening to a lot of the pundits on tv/radio, the general consensus is that there is a really good raw talent in there somewhere.

You watch that game last night, and don't tell me that , considering his age, he did'nt have a really good game.

Annan, i like as well, how old is he though?, Given a choice between Bradley and Annan i would take Bradley every time.

For De Jong for me , read NRC, good tackler, not good enough on the ball.

Edu, of USA, if only young, could turn into another Yaya Toure, again might be worth a gamble.

He drifts out of position too. Obviously any player can improve but I am so sure he is not good enough that we will undoubtedly sign him.

I'm sure Drogba didn't mature until he was 22-23 so u never know about alitidore!

I'd say even later than that gibbo, he was 25 when he got his first big move to Marseille which was the season he caught Chelski's eye.

I was just about to come in and post this, really good player.

We should definitely try for him.

Annan is 23 and has been one of the best midfielder in the tournament.

He'd be a superb signing and he's playing in norway so it's not like we wouldn't be a big step up for him.  On top of that players who come over from the norwegian leagues generally settle in quick.

Doubt he'd cost too much either.  He's definately the first player I'd be looking at (for villa) on the back of this tournament so far.  I think he'll be a premier league player by september as someone will gamble the 6-7m it'll cost on him coming in and doing a similar job to Essien (who he apparently gets regularly compared to).  At his age you'll get most of that back from a french or german side if it doesn't work out.
