We’re hoping to buy McGeady to replace Milner, if we can raise enough cash from selling Sidwell et al.

So, erm, what exactly are Man City paying for Milner with, you knuckle dragging, shadow dwelling, fucktard Nursey?

The story is from Tribal Football, nothing to see here

How did Aiden McGeady get to be '£10m rated'? And why would a flimsy winger be any kind of replacement for our central midfield dynamo?

Is he not good enough to be another wide option at the right price.  I think we need one more in that area, and as it's not a priority it won't be a star signing for 15mill or so, so somebody unspectacular like McGeady might do.

I like that word ' flimsy ' ,Merv ,  very descriptive , it was used in a Gruniad this morning to describe Wright-Philips & Lennon and I thought it very apt , it set me wondering if there are any Villa players or players we,ve been linked with for whom the word ' flimsy ' could apply ? .

i hope the mcgeady rumours are untrue..

i hope we learned our lesson with maloney...

its all well and good being able to waltz past jokey mcjockface in the scottish leagues week in week out, but the defenders in the scottish league are championship standard at celtic / rangers, and league one standard outside the old firm...

the english premier league is a different matter entirely... i couldnt bare the thought of another over rated jokeland league player coming down to villa park and doing another maloney the scottish dwarf impression...

run a litle, come up against a defender who isnt a one legged statue, realise you are out of your depth, shit yourself, turn back on yourself and either pass back to the full back, or give the ball straight to the opposition...

oh how i hope the mcgeady link is nonsense...

Why don't you try commenting on the stories for once, instead of endlessly having digs at people. others can manage it.

In fairness Greg, maybe if you did'nt use the Mirror for your stories, people might take them a bit more seriously. They're bloody hopeless.

They're not my stories, and i don't use the mirror exclusively, but you can only post whats published.. all of the papers are less than accurate because none of them seem to have any contacts at all with the people in the know at villa. i just post the ones i find in the hope it would be of some interest on a transfer rumour thread. if it was the "nailed-on transfer truth link thread" then these people who doubt their accuracy would have a point, instead of stating the obvious over and over again

If we had McGeady I would hope we would go 4-5-1 with him playing wide and Downing behind the front two.

Eh?  You say 4-5-1 then refer to 4-3-1-2?

It goes against everything I believe, to pick out a player that is doing well at the World cup, but I though Annan, the midfielder from Ghana is a classy player, and could fit in our squad as a Petrov replacer, good engine on him and plenty of bite.  A ball winner, a ball keeper and a very good passer.  Sorry if someone already has picked him out

This is getting so depressing that I might just make up a positive story to cheer myself up!

It will probably be as accurate as anything posted from that rag the Mirror.

So if you agree it's tripe, why all the suicidal melodrama?
