Anyone fancy a Honda?

Yes. Wouldn't mind Matsui as well either.

Honda looks class though.

The downside of doing transfer business with Spurs is that they pretty much always do really well on the market.

Look at the absolute top dollar they got for people like Carrick and Berbatov, neither of whom have pulled up too many trees since leaving.

They've also spent some ridiculous money on shit players and players that havent worked out and left for fairly big losses down the years, or for instance, bought players back they only sold a year or two before at a loss. They're far from perfect.

But yes, they will try and take the piss, which is why we should give them very little scope to do so with us. The guys in charge at Villa are no mugs either. If we cant do reasonable business with them there are plenty of other clubs who will.

Villa line up Celtic star McGeady as Milner replacement

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill may move for Celtic star Aiden McGeady if he can generate enough cash from player sales.

Villa have put a clutch of squad men including Nigel Reo-Coker, Luke Young, Steve Sidwell and Curtis Davies up for sale to raise funds.

O'Neill is after another talented attacking midfielder as James Milner is certain to leave Villa after the World Cup - with Man City his likely destination.

And former Celtic manager O'Neill has earmarked his old protege McGeady as a potential replacement.

Republic of Ireland international McGeady, 24, is poised to leave Celtic this summer after coming through the ranks.

Russian club Spartak Moscow have enquired about his services but the £10million-rated star wants to move to the Premier League.

And McGeady this week changed agent by signing up with Struan Marshall to get him a dream move to England.

Marshall also represents Stewart Downing and Emile Heskey, who have moved to Villa Park in the last 18 months.

Marshall gets on well with Villa manager O'Neill, who bossed Celtic from 2000-2005, and his other clients include Robbie Keane.

Now McGeady could be poised to link-up again with O'Neill in the Midlands providing Villa owner Randy Lerner manages to move on several stars.

Sidwell is likely to be the first departure as Fulham close in on his signature in a £3m deal - as revealed by Mirrorsport last week.

McGeady could expect to earn around £50,000-a-week if he moves to Villa on a four-year deal.

But his possible arrival would not entail winger Ashley Young leaving as Villa are determined to keep the star this summer.

Greg when you are done with your rope can I have it?

McGeady is nowhere near good enough for the Premiership as he can't cross, isn't wonderfully fast and relies on trying to get past people which is all well and good against St. Mirren but not as easy against Man United.

We’re hoping to buy McGeady to replace Milner, if we can raise enough cash from selling Sidwell et al.

So, erm, what exactly are Man City paying for Milner with, you knuckle dragging, shadow dwelling, fucktard Nursey?

Sssshhh! Don't point out the obvious contradictions to the highly-perceptive greg! I can't believe he's stupid enough to miss them either but he's about to improve this website immeasurably!

Why don't you try commenting on the stories for once, instead of endlessly having digs at people. others can manage it.

larf! face/palm! disciple! oddball! monette! happy clappers! Church of the blessed martin!

(Pot, kettle, etc).

Okay, here goes. Milner is certain to leave, probably to Man City for £20-odd-million, but we need to sell Sidwell and the others in order to buy a replacement. No, sorry, the story is too ridiculous to comment on.

I think that when hinting you were about to commit suicide you might have expected a bit of light-hearted ribbing. I thought you were joking, and apologise for any offence caused if you were serious.

But good luck with it all the same.

oddball? haven't used that since you threw a hissy fit and complained to the mods that it was un-PC.  bit less shocking than mongol i think though. and a quick search of this thread reveals  your posts seem to be either pops at individuals, the forum, the stories or all three. i'm sure somewhere on here there's  a post where you discuss the stories without a sneer or  dig but i ain't got the time to go that far back :0)

i don't think he's saying that personally. if milner leaves we'd need at least 5 players at 30+m. not going to be covered by the milner fee i reckon. just keane and mcgaedy wouldn't leave much change from 20m and i'm presuming he'll look to replace some of the other players leaving??

i was joking but then you added your usual dig about the forum. there's always villa-talk you know. :0))

In fairness Greg, maybe if you did'nt use the Mirror for your stories, people might take them a bit more seriously. They're bloody hopeless.

Absobloodylutely. Awful even if only a rumour. I shall give up bothering to go if this turns out to be the level of signings we are pitching at...
