Does it? So Cahill wouldn't have been a better signing for Arsenal than Campbell?

heh. the old "there's no-one better" arguement. last rolled out Jan 2009

Go on then, get your scrap book out and come up with a name.

we've come out with loads on this thread and elsewhere. unless you know MON's transfer budget how can you possibly say there's no-one better?

Gnasher, where has Chris said that "there's no-one better"?

I'm not about to get into some tedious row about this, but whilst I appreciate Bolton obviously make the odd decent signing, and I think Petrov will do okay for them, he's halfway over the hill and the fact that a free transfer with a decent reputation across the country/Europe has ended up at Bolton speaks volumes. Injury prone and his legs are going. Let's not turn this into some kind of betrayal by the club and look elsewhere.

Petrov was not at all what we needed and he's found his level at this stage of his career.

I agree Maz, although I'm sure over a season he'd contribute more than Downing.

Thank goodness for that. Not the right player for us at all in my opinion...

Agree on M.Petrov as well. But I'd have taken the positives.

I wouldn't be excited at the prospect of Keane alone, but if we're resigned to Jimmy going, a front five of Ash, Ireland, Downing, Gabby and Keane does sound exciting. Especially with Carew and the youngsters waiting in the wings.

If we could get those pair, add in another wideman (Bentley?) allowing Ash back to the left and perhaps a replacement for Stan I'd be very happy.

I bet we'd play alot better football and be more exciting at home...

What Keane has given us is probably the funniest football related gif ever.

It does sound like Keane is going to happen.
Somehwere, there is a faceplam happening.

Really though, he'd be a decent if predictable signing for us. He can link play up as well as chip in with goals and he wont be around long enough to hold up Delfouneso's progress.

If we get Ireland as well, we'd have a fair more amount of guile up front without compromising too much grit.
Buying Micks might be about as exotic as we go this summer. :)
Excuse me ?
