I would be happy with Keane as long as the price was sensible

Since returning from Liverpool he scored: 14 goals in 39 games for Spurs and 16 goals in 19 for Celtic.

Who are the Spurs fans that say he's bobbins? None that I've heard or spoken to.

go on their forums. they're literally putting the bunting out in anticipation of his departure

They are actually going out into the street and hanging bunting from lamposts? Passionate lot, those Spurs fans. Or do you mean figuritively?

sorry but thats not what they're saying. plenty of talk of running into blind allys, bad passing and generally being cack.

Seems a bit odd that you seem to be blindly accepting the opinions of Spurs and Liverpool fans, yet are like a rabid hen when it comes to arguing the toss with Villa fans.

i think you'll find i hold the same view of the majority of villa fans about some of our players. its you and your band of MONettes who try to claim players like harewood and heskey weren't a complete disaster.

Greg, the main reason some spurs fans are not pro keane is the way that he left them for Liverpool, as a player he has been a spurs idol, but his departure spoilt his hero worship in the same way that if gareth Barry came to us again some fans would never forgive the way he left.

Keane is still a class act and would give us 3good yrs in my opinion.

But then they think Lucas is a footballer so why would anyone take any notice?

look you'd have a much more solid argument if you admitted he hasn't been much cop at his last two clubs but MON was going to turn him around into robbie pre-liverpool. i'd at least have some respect for your opinion even if MON efforts at polishing turds rarely, if ever come off

Greg, what on earth makes you think that having an opinion respected by you is something anyone would care about?

He's a good player, I know he is because I've seen him with my own eyes. He's the type of player that we need in out side. If there was a younger, cheaper, better alternative then I'd probably prefer him but for all the millions of words you've spouted you have failed to offer a realistic, credible suggestion.

I agree. No more than £12 million. Would rather have Klose, but he's foreign so O'Neill's probably not heard of him.

Greg, as you know I am very much not a monette but even I find your views on robbie keane very strange in the extreme, please tell me how he wasn't much cop at Celtic when he scored 16 in 19 games?

Changing clubs during a season is not easy, see Heskey and Carew even, so to have your best scoring season in your career by several goals aged 29 is pretty impressive.  Yes part was in Scotland, but two thirds prem and one third spl is surely more difficult than those seasons he had in the championship at Cov and Wolves for instance.

The point I was making was in relation to your seeming to base everything about Keane on other fans forums, which you haven't provided a link to, by the way.

And I think you'll find that I do not have a 'band' and simply give my own opinions.  And I make no apologies for thinking the manager is doing a good job.  You may have some similar opinions about some things, but believe me - you're in a class of your own when it comes to your little gregnash v the world bouts, like the one you're having now!

Keane was in tbe premiership at Coventry because he scored for them against us on a dreadful nights defeat at highfield rd.

*sigh.* its scotland. he's playing teams who barring rangers are the equivalent of Championship sides or lower. its like if we were in a league with blose, coventry, walsall, kidderminster etc.., some of those clubs struggle to get championship attendances so how they're expected to buy premiership level defences with thier finances is anyone's guess

Indeed, you yourself suggested Jermaine Beckford.

You can't simply think that the manager is doing a good job, some of the fuckwits on here have to give you a witless little nickname, like Happy-clappers or, probably the worst one so far, MONettes.

The fucking MONgols.
