Has there ever been a signing that Greg has been happy with?

Good point. Greg?

There have been loads and he mentions them frequently.

Oh....you mean by Villa?

well i was pleased with cuellar (foolishly i thought he'd be playing centre half), friedal, both youngs, carew. some i wasn't too bothered one way or another at the time like milner, warnock, petrov etc.. still more were patently shite and have more than proved it since

Greg, the main reason some spurs fans are not pro keane is the way that he left them for Liverpool, as a player he has been a spurs idol, but his departure spoilt his hero worship in the same way that if gareth Barry came to us again some fans would never forgive the way he left.

Keane is still a class act and would give us 3good yrs in my opinion.

Owen scored 9 last season and would have surely scored more for Villa as he would have played more.  Keane's record was fantastic at Spurs first time, good at Liverpool, good second time at Spurs and fantastic at Celtic, so even if it reverts to only being good at Villa, those 15 goals a season will do nicely thank you very much.  Gabby's best season was 16 goals and he's got to be worth £25 mill plus, Keane with his ability at £8 mill, we could not get better value anywhere imo.  Knows the league, the area etc etc.  Gabby and Fonz need a clever experienced striker to learn from and not just the two target men we have currently.

see this i don't get. what are you basing it on? his goals? becuse he was awfula t liverpool, truly woeful. my scouse mate still breaks into a cold sweat when you mention his name.

Well, you seem to be basing it 100% on what other people tell you, so maybe basing it on goals isn't too bad an idea?

Playing bad and still scoring - what happens when he starts playing well again?

He was rarely played in his best position at Liverpool and stuck out wide most of the time, too often he was on the bench and I can't see what benitez signed him for if he didn't use him in his normal position.

But then they think Lucas is a footballer so why would anyone take any notice?

Seems a bit odd that you seem to be blindly accepting the opinions of Spurs and Liverpool fans, yet are like a rabid hen when it comes to arguing the toss with Villa fans.

look you'd have a much more solid argument if you admitted he hasn't been much cop at his last two clubs but MON was going to turn him around into robbie pre-liverpool. i'd at least have some respect for your opinion even if MON efforts at polishing turds rarely, if ever come off

That's why I said record, not that he necessarily played well.  I don't see much of Liverpool, or any other team bar Villa really, probably why I was soo wrong last summer in not wanting Dunne.  Thought he was a pedestrian defender prone too errors, not the lionheart that I now love.  I think Keane is a genuinely exciting player too, it would be a step away from Sutton/Harewood/Heskey/Carew.  Keane just off Gabby with Young and Downing/M Petrov wide and Carew on the bench would be fine for me.  Should be plenty of cash left from other sales/sponsor money/transfer kitty for a decent right back and centre mid also and we should be in good nick.  James goes we buy another top mid to replace and a few promising stars with the surplus.

He could hardly have done much more at Celtic ,scored plenty goals the fans idolized him and was voted player of the year , how was that a failure?

How can he have not been much kop at his last 2 clubs yet scored 9 in 25 for Spurs and 16 in 19 for Celtic last season?  If that's not much cop imagine what he could do in a settled side.
