ah. back on the christmas party conspiracy theories are we? bottom line is he was dropped for being crap, went into a huff and demanded a loan move to celtic. that after being crap at liverpool. Now after 2 years of being bobbins don't you think its a bit more than temporry form?

Why don't you have a look at the stats and see how many games he played for Spurs when he went back, how many goals he scored for both Liverpool and Spurs in that period and then make an educated assessment of his present level?

My own opinion on him under Redknapp was that he was forced on old 'arry as the board agreed to take him back as Liverpool could not make the next payment.  He than had him, but preferred Defoe and didn;t think they played well together.

I have looked at the stats and

1)16 goals in 53 games isn't impressive especially when you consider he's hardly going to be getting more chances to score in our side and his age
2)he only played so few games at spurs because he was bobbins
3)i tend to trust the fans opinion here as well as pure stats and if spurs and liverpool fans think he's bobbins then i reckon there's some truth in it.

You always claim to know what fans of other clubs think of every player. How is that so? Do you know millions of people and are they all in complete agreement on every issue? Or do you trawl the web from your bunker until you find a thread that agrees with your idiosyncratic world view and then treat that as the Gospel according to Scouse?

1) 1 in 3 when in and out of a side under managers that didn't really want him?  Decent enough to me.
2) No, that's just your opinion, which once again you seem to be confusing with fact.
3) I once had a chat with a Spurs fan who told me Tom Huddlestone was the new Glen Hoddle.

I fail to see how Keane is a has been, he's scored goals wherever he's been.

People are basing it on the fact that he's been on loan at Celtic without taking into account that he fell out with Redknapp. They also tell us that Harry wouldn't be selling him if he was any good. The same people spent last season moaning that we hadn't signed Darren Bent.

It seems that the only person in the world who sees it as a conspiracy theory rather than a well documented falling out is is a Mr G Nash of West London. I'm reminded of the story of the squaddie on the parade ground pulled up for marching out of step and arguing that he's in step, it is everyone else that is wrong.

yes, your well documented story consisting of redknapp saying he'd discipline the players internally and little else. anyway i can't stop you belieiving paper tittle-tattle. some people are more gullible than others i suppose

Since returning from Liverpool he scored: 14 goals in 39 games for Spurs and 16 goals in 19 for Celtic.

Who are the Spurs fans that say he's bobbins? None that I've heard or spoken to.

well you'd better hope any managers looking at sidwell, heskey etc.. have the same low opinion of our fans views. if they don't then we'll never get rid of them

We would pay more for Doyle than Keane and based on past history the risk is far greater.  He turns 27 just after the season starts so he should be showing more than just promise at that age.

I'll remind you of that the next time you quote a baseless 'transfer link' as showing what ambition we have.

Without wishing to gatecrash the party, what the fuck has that got to do with the price of cabbage?

You're getting ripped about the signing of Keane (and I agree with you), so you wobble on to safer ground and dig at Heskey and Sidwell?

That's lame. In fact....

Because they think the likes of Messi are on their way. Bless them. Anyway, I can think of better players than Keane too but you're trying to paint him as hopeless which is just a load of bollocks. His record commands more respect than that.

For a decent price he will do a good job for us.
If we get stung for him (cant see it) I will not be happy.

Although I do bang on about him a bit (may be the Irish connection, but I have always rated him) this nicely sums up my opinion aswell.  I can think of better, but if they're unattainable then Keane makes sense and would be a step in the right direction.

but thats his record, ie the past. same as owen who people on here were screaming about signing last summer. the most interesting (and worrying) comments on the spurs forums are not the people saying good riddance but the fans who acknowlege the great job he did for them the first time round, but who admit he's sadly lost something since returning from liverpool
