Santa Cruz looked shite, his knee still looks buggered.

Riveros who scored for them is off to Sunderland, Steve Bruce scouting well again.

Don't agree at all. Thought Santa Cruz held the ball well and turned and ran them back towards their own goal well. Short of fitness yes, but the knee looked in decent shape, especially when he was kicked on it.

Keane - if that close it is good to get it done early.

I hope we get Martin Petrov, he's a great winger. I'd like to try him up the right, much the same way we play Young up the left.

I quite like Petrov. Always looks good to me. Theres more chance him changing the game coming off the bench then the bench we have at the moment.

At least hes direct , goes straight for the jugular where Downing is about as direct as a limp penis..

For a free, why not?

M Petrov is a quality player. But he's injured too much. On a free it's worth a punt though. He could offer us just that something a little bit classier and different, and unpredictable, like Paddy Berger did all too rarely for us.

If we start off matters with Keane and Petrov, that's not bad going IMO. We'd need to counter that further in the window with younger, up and coming players. We do need a couple of classier older heads. Certainly, having Keane and Petrov would be options to make things a little less garishly dull in home games. A bit more considered and technical.

I'm not convinced on Martin Petrov.  Seemed to have a good season for Man City under Sven, then sunk without a trace when they started their mega spending.  Although that could be understandable, some players like Ireland, Dunne and SWP fought for their places and got decent amounts of games.  Don't know why exactly, but he says to me 'big time Charlie'!

I'd rather use some of our kitty to try and get Bentley from Spurs!

No thanks to Petrov. We dont need another left winger and he's 31 now. A decent player but a largely pointless signing now.

If we're going to get a winger it should be a right winger who can probably play elsewhere too. And have him rotating with Albrighton. Bentley would be a good idea. Even SWP for a cheap enough deal.

Petrov on a free is a no brainer.  Can't see how we can lose having someone like him in the squad. On his day a quality option. And its a FREE transfer

Not fussed about Keane, can take it or leave it

YOUNGER PLAYERS PLEASE (unless they're top drawer like Forlan)

I always thought we needed a bit more experience in the squad. IMHO, there's no harm in having a few 28-31 year olds in the squad.

We have quite a few. Half our starting XI fall into this age category. I dont mind more but they have to be/should be really good players or a position we need filling.
