Oof. not good.

Villa star demands Fulham reassurances before agreeing to move
Published 22:30 18/06/10 By James Nursey

Steve Sidwell wants assurances Roy Hodgson will remain as Fulham boss before completing a £3million move from Aston Villa.

Mirrorsport revealed on Thursday that Fulham have made an approach for the Villa midfielder, who cost £5m from Chelsea in July 2008.

Sidwell is one of several Villa players available for transfer as the club look to sell-to-buy.

He is willing to take a drop in his £50,000-a-week wages to sign for the Cottagers and wants to return to London.

But Fulham boss Hodgson is the hot favourite to take over at managerless Liverpool. And Sidwell wants guarantees about the future of Fulham before agreeing to leave Villa Park.

SSN had this story but said their offer was for £2m, not 3. Let's hope this report is the correct one.

Steve Sidwell will be lucky to get a gig at any top half Prem side.

Based on his form for the past two (three including his stint at Chelsea) seasons, he's not really in a position to get too picky I'd have thought.

I'm sure it would be preferable if Woy was to remain.  But look on the bright side Steve, you'd still be back in London. Get gone.

Eden Hazzard and Carlton Cole.

Both gettable, and both would improve the two areas that need strengthening.

One of the worst players ever to wear a Villa shirt.

Fuckin' hell, have you been reading this from back to front? I must have posted that months ago.

He didn't play well that season, but showed potential, and we were his third loan club in as many seasons.
He's got his head down at West Ham, dropped his partyboy lifestyle and developed his game. When I've watched him, I've been impressed with his all round game and I think he'd improve what we've got. OK?

To be honest, I usually avoid this thread because it's all bollocks. However, I was extremely bored at work so thought I'd have a look for a laugh. I did laugh, but then got worked up by the pap that is discussed on here so I shall be reinstating my ban on this thread after this posting.

Your contribution will be sorely missed.

Bye Bye Sidwell.

You will be missed almost as much as Salifou will be.

Sidwell in a straight swap for Koncheskey to be back up for Warnock. Possibly for a few million more give them Shorey too?

We need young understudies like Clyne because MON won't give them much football and in the meantime, they can be developing their abilities. There would also be re-sale value if it didn't work out.

Indeed, but at £2million that he is linked with leaving for we're hardly losing too much in terms of sell on value. It's not like he's Keane who will cost us upwards of £10million.

Also Warnock looked a bit dodgy at times towards the end of last season and he had a few injury problems so for my money we need someone who can come in and who can push Warnock for his place.

Clyne's name brings me on to an interesting point actually. We all know that Martin will most likely buy a right back from the UK and there has been little in the way of links to British based RBs and there's not many going around. I get a strange feeling Cuellar will be our right back next season.

Please tell me you're not serious??? Absolutely f**king dreadful player. I would gladly play Shorey week in week out rather than have him anywhere near Villa Park.

Playing there for the majority of last season should be a good indicator.

Clyne can play left or right back. I would also try and get Gibbs on loan from Arsenal for the season and then try to make it permanent next season. He will become a better player than Warnock but I don't think Arsenal will sell him at this point which is why I would try to be a bit more stealthy.

Playing there for the majority of last season should be a good indicator.

Clyne can play left or right back. I would also try and get Gilbert on loan from Arsenal for the season and then try to make it permanent next season. He will become a better player than Warnock but I don't think Arsenal will sell him at this point which is why I would try to be a bit more stealthy.

Gilbert? Is he the guy with the daft first name Kerrea or something? I'm sure I saw him play reasonably well for them in a match at some level a while back.

Whatever happened to the lad Gibbs? He had a run in the side and looked good apart from a clanger against Man Yoo then hasn't been seen for about a year.

Really surprised we're not in for Clyne especially with Palace only wanting 2m.

While it's important we sell our cast offs, it's important we don't get shortchanged. Sidwell may be rubbish but rubbish players nowadays go for at least 3m, we got 3.5m for Gardner as a comparison so 2m I wouldn't accept.

After watching the Denmark v. Cameroon match there are a good few players that should be on MON's list.

Talking to someone on Facebook I mentioned that the Danish Rommendahl would be a good signing ... but apparently he was shit in the Prem last time he was up there. However, he'll now be high on World Cup fever.

Does anyone else agree?

Also, totally agree with tsvet, I don't think Keane will produce what we need from our striker.

EDIT.
