Parker from west ham would be great but i'd be devastated if carlton cole ever played for us again-a dearer version of heskey.

Eden Hazzard and Carlton Cole.

Both gettable, and both would improve the two areas that need strengthening.

Now if you'd said Micky Hazzard I might have taken you more seriously.

Parker's too old.

No point buying a player in the engine room with those kind of years left in him. Need a mobile young Ian Taylor type player who can do the box to box thing for 90 mins

Can't think of a target that fits the criteria though

We are to make a £6 million pound bid for Sebastien Frey , in the Sun today...

I think that player been mentioned before.

Surprised at that type of link TBH.

Would have expected Arsenal or the like to go in for him.

Decent keeper, if we sign him it will mean both Brads are on borrowed time I'd have thought.

Well friedal is pushing 40 so may have only a season left in him and guzan looked very dodgy in the cup games last season, lots of rumours here about keiron Westwood the republics no. 2- decent keeper but would cost about £5m!

I don't see the sense in buying a keeper this summer if I'm honest.  We start with Big Brad and look for Little Brad to make strides.  If he doesn't we go shopping next summer.  And should disaster strike (Big gets injured and Little doesn't make the grade) we go shopping in January.

We could be proactive for a change though, not waiting until we absolutely have no choice but to sign a replacement - at a possibly vastly inflated fee.

I'd have thought Brad snr has at least one more campaign in him, and despite Brad jnr's woe against Blackburn I think there is enough there to work with.

But there was signs that old Brad was slowing down reaction- wise last year. And maybe O'Neill thinks Guzan's weakness to the high ball is too chronic to overcome. It's a pretty big part of the English game, so if he does feel that way he'd have little alternative but to move him on.

I have nothing against being proactive, but I also feel we should be prioritising where we strengthen.  Goalkeeper is not urgent to me, so I'd rather money be spent on other areas of the side.  Should we have a spare £6m after all that is sorted, then fair enough.

Agreed-midfield and up front are bigger priorities.

I hereby predict that the three players we bring in this summer will be Clyne, Parker and Doyle.

if that happens we might as well give up.

One of the worst players ever to wear a Villa shirt.

Fuckin' hell, have you been reading this from back to front? I must have posted that months ago.

He didn't play well that season, but showed potential, and we were his third loan club in as many seasons.
He's got his head down at West Ham, dropped his partyboy lifestyle and developed his game. When I've watched him, I've been impressed with his all round game and I think he'd improve what we've got. OK?

To be honest, I usually avoid this thread because it's all bollocks. However, I was extremely bored at work so thought I'd have a look for a laugh. I did laugh, but then got worked up by the pap that is discussed on here so I shall be reinstating my ban on this thread after this posting.
