We would be near the back of the cue, IF, Atletico decided to cash in.
He signed a new contract with them in may i believe.

Shame. He has been a top player for years and just stayed under
the radar of the elite. Would bag 15 - 20 goals for us, no problem.

Offer Klose a 2/3 year contract, think he might be cheaper, and a better buy for us than Forlan.

Joking apart, Sanchez, only 21, did look very good for Chile earlier, watch out for him.

Shane Warne: "I've waited 2 years for another chance to humiliate you."

Daryll Cullinan: "Looks like you spent it eating."

I know it's off topic, but that's an interesting signature.

Cullinan scored 4/11 against Warne in tests and averaged 12.75 in 12 tests against Australia. He scored 8/242 against Warne in ODIs, and was dismissed by Warne every 2.75 matches he played against him.

If you really wanted to buy a Uruguayan striker, Cavani and Hernadez are the ones to go for. They're much younger than Forlan.

think we're just tormenting ourselves looking at all these foreign players. on the plus side, think of all the players that will pass MON's criteria of playing in england if we host the 2018 world cup. on the downside MON would still have to be the manager. On the plus side to last that long he'd probably have to have won something to still be in a job. on the downside he's managed nearly half that time already, so don't count on it:0(

Just edges out Ian Healy's advice to Shane Warne v Sri Lanka many moons ago. On getting Arjuna Ranatunga out of his crease: "Put a Mars Bar on a good length, that should do it."

The thing I don't understand is that MON has signed foreign players before, although they are obviously in the minority to the English/English based players that he has signed.

Being foreign doesn't automatically make you a good player, or adaptable to the Premiership as it is faster and more physical than most of the other leagues. But that's stating the obvious - there are some very good players around and who knows, he may well surprise us by signing someone from another league this transfer window. I'd like it but I'd just rather that they were good rather than being foreign for the sake of it, e.g. Zigic turning up at Blues and automatically becoming their highest earner. If he turns out to be shite (quite possible considering that in Serbia's last match he looked like Crouch fused with Heskey to form the ultimate big donkey) then they've dropped a bollock of gigantic proportions.

It's not nice that we're being linked with cack like Carlton Cole while in contrast Blues are courting players like Fabricio Miccoli, but at least Miccoli has now told Blues to do one. If Cole tells us to do one then I'd cartwheel around the room. My biggest worry is a situation where we have to sell Milner to City and being forced to accept dross like Wright-Phillips in return.

thats my worry really. sell milner and spend the proceeds on citeh and spurs reserves. if he does that, then we won't be near 6th, let alone 4th

From the mirror. GET IN

Fulham have made an official approach for Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell and slapped a bid in.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill has to sell-to-buy this summer after cut-backs by owner Randy Lerner.

And Sidwell is one of several stars including Curtis Davies, Nigel Reo-Coker, Nicky Shorey and Luke Young who may be sold.

Sidwell has made 23 Premier League starts for Villa since a £5million move from Chelsea in July 2008.

Villa are looking to recoup around £3m and get his £50,000-a-week salary off their wage bill as Sidwell will be a free agent next summer.

And the Londoner is ready to return to the capital to revive his stalled career.

Premier League rivals West Ham and Sunderland also fancy the former Arsenal trainee.

But Craven Cottage is his likely destination after Fulham boss Roy Hodgson made an early move to get the ace.

And Sidwell is willing to take a pay-cut for regular first team football.

It's one "men" word too little.

Forgive whoever who wrote or said it, afterall Sidwell still needs a living.
