Watching the game now and Forlan has so much craft to his play.

I think he'd be a class signing for us. Scores goals, makes goals, can keep on running. He's a quality player, who never got much of a chance at Utd.

He'd be exactly the sort of player we need. I think we'll get the poor mans equivilant Robbie Keane, which I wouldn't mind, but ideally, Forlan would be better.

I think Forlan is older than Keane and they'd want too much given his age.

That would be the problem, though I think Forlan is in better nick. They'd both cost us about the same. But I do think going for Forlan would show more ambition, because it's doubtful he'd actually come here. I think he'd be looking at a champions League club, here or in Europe. There'd be takers.

I'm not sure I'd agree with one being in better 'nick' than the other, but I do think that if he moves Forlan will go for more than Keane.  Given the slight difference in age and the question mark over Forlan in the PL, I'd say Keane would be a better bet.

I like the look of Toulalan - energetic, good passer of the ball, greying early to give the rest oif us some comfort...

I'll also say that Keane looks a better bet, but only because it looks highly likely we'll see him in a Villa shirt this summer. :)

Either improves our frontline signficantly in any case.

He'd be good.

I'd also love us to take a punt on Gourcuff. I didn't watch the game last night so he might have played shite, but he's been touted as the next big thing in French football, with Zidane comparisons. He's probably gonna want out of French football and Bordeaux.

A long shot because he'll have plenty of CL suiters, but worth a punt still. It would be a good way to spend the Milney money.

Gourcuff will probably sign for Arsenal as a replacement for CF

MON was raving about him when he was a BBC pundit at the last World Cup.

Good, on last night's performance.

He reminded me of Gavin McCann trying to play like Zidane.

Everything that was decent about France last night came from Gourcuff.

Except the penalty appeal for handball, but then that was more comedy value than footballing excellence.

No, I'm not letting it go yet!

A disturbing rumour that I keep hearing is that Blues are in for Fabrizio Miccoli of Palermo. This is a bad thing because he is ace, much like an Italian Tevez. I'm not saying that we should sign him but I hope he has more sense than to get suckered in signing for those bowlheads down the road.

If he's that good, why would you think we shouldn't sign him?

Much as i like the look of Gourcuff, i've never seen him have a good game, much like last night, he seems to be trying too hard.A good player, and because he does'nt seem to shine in the good games, i think the supposed big teams might not be tempted.Only 23, i think, and we need that kind of player.

Toulalan looks OK, but how old is he?Thought Diaby was the Frenchs best by quite a way, surprised hes not the one Barca are going for.
