Doyle and Keane up front.

That's much better than Heskey/Carew and Gabby isn't it?

To be honest I don't think it is better.

I wasn't being serious.

well if it's £25 million take it or leave it, they can piss off.

£25 million plus Ireland would do...don't want him gone but if it's for the greater good and the money is well spent....

Do people think that Arsene Wenger is a good judge of a player?

Quote
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted recently that he was a fan of the Wolves forward:

"I like him personally.

"He is an intelligent striker.

"He's good everywhere. I followed him since he was at Reading."

All managers make mistakes, Chris, as  believe you've pointed out yourself several times when it suited (Francis Jeffers, Richard Wright).

I don't know everyone makes mistakes, he spent £10 million on Eduardo.

So do you think his comments about him being an intelligent striker are misplaced?

Should we spend every available penny on a star striker?

Berbatov perhaps?

Who was a great player until that Small Heath donkey crocked him. Shame on you Arsene for not foreseeing that.

I like Doyle.

I like him because very time I've watched him play I've been impressed by his performance. Not how many goals he's scored, or how many assists he's made or how many times he penetrated the 18 yard line in a 10 minute period. Just that he's looked like a good player.

However, I feel we'd have to pay way too much to tempt him away from the dingles, which is shame because I think he'd be good for us. I think in a good side he's going to become a very good player.

Great? he scored some goals in the League Cup for them, I think the word 'great' is a bit much.

To be fair Paul, he'd just started to look the part for them before Lenny Small from Of Mice and Men decided to 'pet' him.

Quantify what Wenger means by 'Intelligent'
We need a striker who scores goals, not somebody like Heskey who continually get's off the hook with the spurious claim 'He works hard for the team.'

I quite like Doyle as well. I think he would be a good fit in our squad.
