Personally I really wouldnt want Wallcott, I think he is a one trick pony. Can't cross bad decision making and no real skill, He struggles to go around people which is why he isnt going to South Africa..

O'Neill does have a track record of getting rid of people that aren't willing to prove themselves to him (Davis and Cahill being great examples) but that's what he expects from players.  His choice of management style is that he wants every single player to prove they deserve their chance, whether we agree with his assessment in this regarding some players isn't relevant, if MON is anything it's that he's not afraid to back himself.

If you mean players out of the side need to do their upmost in training and those that don't struggle to get back in, you may have a very good point.

Exactly, he just seems like the kind of guy who doesn't take people who are all talk.  If you look at the players who've done well under him anywhere primarily they've all got that run themselves into the ground mentality, I just don't think he goes for players who won't do that.  I also think that, as that's a fairly british attribute, it explains his transfer policy.

Interesting angle, considering the NRC situation.  It was reported the bust up with O'Neill occurred because NRC had a go at Delfounso for being a lazy fecker in training and not putting any effort in.  Now many bosses say you can't have enough leaders on the pitch and love that sort of attitude where the senior pros care enough to give the youngster a kick up the backside when needed. I'd wager many bossess would have NRC as their captain for those kind of attributes.  But, apparently,  O'Neill sided with Defounso and had a go at NRC for shouting at one of the youngsters.  Which ended badly.  So NRC who was trying to get the most out of training gets a bollocking, while lazy boy Fonz remains in favour.

I guess it's dependent, should it be true of course, on the way NRC spoke to/shouted at Nathan.  If he went over the top, shouldn't the manager step in to protect his bright young star's confidence?

It's all supposition and we can only guess at exactly what went on.

The story i heard was that NRC had played a bad pass to the Fonz and had a go at him, and MON stuck up for Fonz, and said that NRC should be able to pass better.

  Regardless, both should put it behind them and do whats best for the club.

I know what you're saying Phil, but the reason his crossing is poor is because he's not really a winger. He's a striker, it's where he started. He's pacy more than skilful, which is why he goes past people rather than round them.

I wouldn't be against him as a striker but I have a feeling he would end up as a winger, I think we need better in a forward

Question is, was it just a shit pass or was it a 'hospital ball'? i.e. where the pass is too short and invites the defender to dive in.
