Do we really care about Evertons latest acquisition?

I'm sure we'll sign someone better.

Now if Leeds did not miss Fabian Delph it was not because of Jermaine Beckford as they failed to get up with him in the side. Leeds sold Delph excellent player he will be and Robert Snodgrass (Leeds Utd Player of the year) broke into the team and emerged.

Now, moving on Joe Ledley wouldn't be a bad signing on a free. I can't believe he is a free agent. I see he's linked with Roma.

Ledley's got no pace, thats his major drawback.

He was made to look a mug several times against Mexico.

1322 BST: Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff would prefer a move to Arsenal, despite Lyon's willingness to meet the £21m release clause in his contract.

Blow the budget on this man.  He'll never come to Villa but it's the loony season and we're allowed to dream.

I think we'll miss Delph next season.

How can you miss something that has had no impact to begin with?

I have no doubt he'll be a decent player one day, but he's done nothing yet and still isn't ready for first team Prem football anyway.

In the few times we have seen him he looks exactly the sort of player we currently need, should have had more of a run out last season when fit, just hope he comes back from injury unscathed

Spot on Bosco.

Anyone reckon we've bid for that Clyne bloke at Palace then seeing as they're closing down?

Getting him for 2m would potentially be a great deal and I'd be a lot happier MON for once actually buying full backs before he sells them all off.

I think we should temporarily reinstate Coopers Injury for the Beckford debate.  I'd be very interested to hear his views on the situation.

You're a bit early, MON usually doesn't get started until the third week of August!

Yet was a mainstay of one of the tightest defences in the league last year. We all have different opinions on the merits of individuals but it is difficult to argue with the fact that Cuellar was an important part of a very strong defence which goes a long way to justifying the manager's belief in him.

Luke Young was also part of that tight defence until he was unfairly dropped.

As I said we all have different opinions on players, including the manager. The idea that because his view doesn't coincide with yours it is proof of a vendetta smacks of arrogance.

Could be, Ace.  If you conveniently overlook his track record in similar scenarios, that is.

There are examples of pragmatism too, of course. What alcoholics might call a moment of clarity. He didn't ostracise Barry for an extended period after his scathing article in the NOTW. He brought Berger back after they had had a row in late 2006. Even NRC did appear briefly after their contretemps last year.

But in all those situations he was faced with little choice. Barry was our best player; we were crying out for something - anything- when Berger returned to the starting XI in 2007 and injury/ suspension seen NRC return to the fold.

But it seems quite clear that if a player crosses MON and -crucially- MON believes he can get away with keeping him out of the first team, he'll do so.
