£2m for Keane? They wrote off the majority of an incoming £18m fee for him just over a year ago. Anywhere between £6m and £10m I reckon. He's only 29, I was a little surprised to read the other day!

£5m absolute maximum for Keane.  Any talk of paying £18m is ridiculous.  How exactly has his price gone up since joining Spurs?  All he's done is score a few goals up in the Euro Disney league.

Keane would be a completely underwhelming signing.

top class player and would be fantastic signing_are these constant knockers the same people who slagged off dunne and collins last summer before they joined?

robbie keane is better than agbonlahor carew and heskey by far _give the guy a chance if he comes.

when you hark to the voice of the knocker, and listen to his hammer fall, remember the fact , that the knockers hat , requires no brains at all!

Are you confusing Keane with Rooney? He's not a bad player but better than Agbonlahor and Carew? Heskey I'll give you that one.

A couple of seasons back Keane was a Spurs sub warming up in front of Trinity Road someone shouted come and sign for a big club to which he turned round and said not in a million years!

No way he'll get regular football here so can't see this happening especially for stupid money he's worth 2 million at best.

Personally, I don't care about the price. It's not me paying it.

Have we been linked with Pennant yet? That one always comes up.

Quite, we missed out on Keane first time round because we weren't prepared to pay an extra £500,000.

i would far rather see robbie keane up front in a villa shirt than either gabby or carew, keane has scored goals at the highest level for years , he has commanded huge fees and been a top performer at international level, gabby as yet is far from the finished article and could learn a lot from keane , whereas carew on his day is a top player but his day is far too rare in my opinion.

i would confidently predict that keane would become the darling of the holte end and people slagging him off now , will be saying in a years time how much they always wanted him here.

go get him mon!

Yes it is. We cannot expect Randy to put money in forever. Aston Villa needs to be run from the money it generates. Just as its your money that pays for the police through taxation. Its your money from the turnstile that will pay for Keane at 65k per week. I want my money invested better.

I don't think many people would have an issue over us signing him, but it has to be at a sensible price.  The irony is that we missed out on Keane first time round because we refused to pay a fraction of the fee that we ended up spunking on the likes of Steve Watson, Mustapha Hadji and Alan Thompson!  Doesn't matter though as he'd probably have had itchy feet after about 18 months anyway.

MON isn't daft, he'll only sign Keane if the price is right.

I could handle signing him, but only at the right price.
