Pornodwarf had an article in the Mail today.Apparently Carlton Cole struggles bigtime to play weekend/midweek matches due to bad knees.
Baring in mind that Cole is arguably WHU biggest saleable asset,is this counter productive or is the Dwarf ahead of the game?

Downing is a confidence player.

When Boro had their run to the Uefa cup final he set up most of their goals.

And when he first started playing for us in December when we were playing well he looked the part also.

But when our form dips don't expect him to be able to drag us out of a crisis like Young or Milner have done in the past.

Should've had more goals though, some of his misses like against Arsenal and Wolves were woeful.

I'd actually start him on the bench next season to give him a kick up the backside.

He's a confidence player so we should drop him? Not disagreeing with you but the post seems a bit contradictory.

If it's on the cheap, then fair enough in my opinion

A lot of conjecture, and there's no way he'll be £18m. Levy will be lucky to get half that, the greedy bugger. I do think we'll buy him though - it seems to have an air of inevitability about it.

£18m is a ridiculous price tag...and I don't believe for a second that even Spurs would think they'd get that. I think if he's available for around £7m that would be a fair price, especially if we can get a couple of mill for offloading Heskey to put towards it.

2- They are referencing a story already proven as rubbish by the clubs official site.

Thing is, Levy has a pretty decent track record of squeezing every available cent out of a selling club in seasons past.

I've advocated Keane as a budget-medium priced pot shot in the past, but if the bidding goes anywhere beyond £12 million we want our heads read to even consider a deal.

Garry Doyle does have pretty decent contacts within the Irish squad though, and has called it right in the past. I'd say there is every chance we're in for Keane, but lets hope we land him and An. Other.

As for Downing, I'm not prepared to write him off just yet. There is still a bit to work with there, but I think he'd definitely benefit from not being a guaranteed starter. Certainly his performances to date haven't justified that type of status.

I don't want to buy Keane at all but if we do we should pay 2 million tops. He is Spurs' 5th choice striker and he is on 65k a week. They need to get shot. We are the only club he can move to. He will not attract attention from abroad, Everton is a possibity but there are not many clubs that can match his wages. Spurs will not be able to stop laughing if they get 7 million for him

I'd be happy with Rodallega and Keane. Don't want Zamora at all.

Zamora ??????

Lets hope to fuck Villa have to put out another statement saying that the Mercury are a bunch of lying bastards as well.

Cole ?
Zamora ?
Keane ?

For gods sake....!!
I'd rather stick with what we've got ( including Heskey) for another season than touch any of those with a bargepole (maybe Keane for no more than £4M).
