Life is shit.

Get a grip, Paul.

It's Friday, it's baking hot, women are walking round in next to nothing and pubs sell beer.

Town this morning in the sun is an absolute wanker's paradise.

I'll stick with Sydney thanks - and this is winter!

I've decided that I am going to stop going onto the BBC Gossip Column as it just depresses me.

We never sign anyone until the last week of the transfer window anyway.

If you're fed up with the transfer speculation why not make up your own? Its all the hacks do anyway.

So instead of getting vexed over somebody elses baseless nonsense, be overjoyous with your own.

Think we've given up on the top4.

Speak for yourself as I haven't!  And I very much doubt Martin and Randy have either.

Not bad, now try and get it into a shit article. Try and use tired old phrases like "swoop" or "raid", "warchest" and "blow them out of the water". Avoid having to be accurate by quoting "sources" and "insiders".

For instance:

Martin O'Neill is looking to blow Barcelona out of the water by swooping for Liverpool hotshot Fernando Torres. The Spaniard, 26 or whatever, is looking to play 6th place football and wants to quit Liverpool for Villa so he can have a bit of a rest after the World Cup. Liverpool report back a bit earlier than Villa and this will clinch the deal.
The Ulsterman will use a Warchest given to him by Billionaire Lerner after securing a trillion pound sponsorship deal with Ryanair and insiders say his raid will be on Liverpool for the guy who looks like a girl.

A source said "Nando likes Birmingham and its a Wankers paradise, especially Small Heath. He's been to One stop already today on his way to have a secret meeting with Paul Faulkner....ooops!".

It is thought a fee of £80m should swing the deal with Luc Nillis moving in the opposite direction.

See? I feel much better now.

you could be right john. it's certainly possible all the teams above us could be involved in some sort of combined mid-air plane crash, thus  paving the way open to us. I was talking by footballing means though.

Have faith.

Arsenal will replace Febregas with Aquillani's twin, Spurs won't be able to cope with playing champions league on a wednesday and then being expected to win their league game on the saturday, Everton will have a poor second half of the season this time and Liverpool won't be even a threat.

1. Chelsea
2. Manure
3. Man. City
4. Us
5. Arsenal

Ok, here is the "friday poser"  Would you a) have a "closed transfer season" rather just keep the players we have for next season, no one in or out or b)  open shop, if Young and Milner go, they go, and we buy new while sorting some of our squad issues out.  Chris, great post by the way

The quick and obvious answer is of course B, but having said that:-
1.  A full season on Milner in the middle
2.  Delph, Delfouneso and the other young 'uns a year older and better.
3.  Downing with a full pre-season and injury free.
4.  Our late summer 09 signings there for longer, so turn Wigan at home into at least a draw

We might actually be better off and closing in on that 6 point gap!

Well, what we need us to get ahead of two of the sides above us right now:-
Man Utd and Chelsea - highly unlikely.
Arsenal - they will be poorer without Fabregas and will Wenger have money to spend or is it all still going on the stadium repayments?
Spurs - it remains to be seen how they can cope with the heavy CL and PL football schedule.  Plus will they be able to attract the players they think?
Man City - hard, especially is they sign Milner, but another managerial change is always likely, which may disrupt them.

Besides, I think it better to concentrate on ourselves and get our side/squad to be better.  we then go again and see where it takes us!
