Robinho, easily the most overrated player since the Premier league began, and those that complain about Downings wussiness, you aint seen nothing yet.  Glad he wont be coming

I would love to see

Defender
M.Richard from ManCity. If we have to sell Davies. Anyway with Davies on duty we should be OK for the defender since L.Young can play on the left.

Midfield
R.Vander.Vaart is my 1st choice to play alone with Petrov.
SWP, Bentley and Joe Cole can give us the boost in but we already have 3 Attacking Midfielders.

Forward
Robinho is my prefer choice ahead of the like of C.Cole and Beckford. We need some clinical and player who can tern the game around.

For the player to sell
I would like to keep Curtis Davies, Nigel Reo-Coker, Steve Sidwell and Luke Young. This are quality player that need to make them shine. They all good we can apply rotation to make them familiar with field then they can deliver good quality.

Villa Forever

Couldn't disagree more if I tried. I would have Van der Vaart and none of the others and would sell all the ones you would like to keep!

Can't see the logic of keeping Sidwell. You wouldn't know when he's on the pitch.

I can't believe anyone would think Robinho would be a good buy.

He's a mentalist, for starters.

You're only saying that Paulie because he once had you in a headlock, insisting that you go with him to visit his brother in Leeds.

Not much around i can see involving us apart from the Milner stuff, however..

THIERRY HENRY has put his future on hold until after the World Cup.
The former Arsenal ace had been considering a switch from Barcelona to the New York Red Bulls.

But the France skipper now has at least four other offers on the table from European clubs - two from the Premier League.

The MLS transfer window opens on July 15 and Henry, 32, will wait before making his decision.

Very interesting.

The Guardian has a pretty decent success rate as far as previous transfers are concerned, one of their journos gets on well with MON IIRC.

This bit was interesting

'As for Milner, reports of a £24m bid being imminent are not true, but the England internationa and newly crowned Young Footballer of the Yearl figures prominently in City's planning. and the club are holding internal discussions to work out the best strategy to persuade Villa to sell.'

If they want him, he's as good as gone.

239,560,706.92 UAE Dirhams please, or 45 million quid. And that's just to open negotiations. You want the hottest young property in English football, you're going to have to fucking pay for it.

Disagree, Mark. The owner doesn't want to sell, the manager doesn't want to sell and we've no evidence to suggest that player wants to go to Man City. He might, but it's a huge assumption to suggest he's completely motivated by cash like that fat bastard we sold them last summer.

If Sidwell and NRC are going then we should be in for Parker and Benayoun. Both close to 30 but could easily do good jobs for us.

Ireland is a no go whilst Man City seem to be planning bids for Milner.

The same Fat Bastard who is going to spend the next few weeks getting in Jimmy's ear and telling how much greener the grass is on the other side.

I'm torn on what will happen, I'd like to think James with the PFA advising him will see the Villa as the best place for him for the next year at least and that will see him stay.

The only way RL and MON will be tempted is if we get an absolutley massive bid for him, I would think £35m plus, which again is probably a season too early.  That said only Chelsea and Citeh could afford that figure, so if he goes this summer it will be to one of them in my opinion, but my gut is he'll be here for at least one more season.
