Fabiano hasn't been linked with Ure recently, he was linked with Chelsk last summer i think, and if memory serves me well he is about 29.....but he is top quality, and probably available for about £20m.

Reading between the lines of MONs comments, i think he wants to sign players in that bracket now, whether he will be allowed to is another question, but i would expect us to break our transfer record this summer.

Plus was'nt Seville linked with Carew?

I'm not quite sure why we are always happy to put ourselves down.Villa fans were being slaughtered on TSport last night, and today, and to be quite honest, i can see why.

As one of the reporters said, change the Wigan and Bburn games to 2 home wins, and we would have been on the same points as mighty Spuds.......so not to far away then.

Yes, and if they hadn't lost home and away to Wolves we'd have been even further behind.

The fact is we finished 6th and without silverware. Now I personally would be ok with that if we hadn't been so bloody awful for most of the season at Villa Park. The priority transfer wise has to be to bring in someone with some creative spark in midfield and a goalscorer. Whether we can afford to buy quality in those areas having spunked £12 million on Downing, £9 million on Davies etc I don't know.

Get rid of the deadwood and malcontents and bring in 2 or 3 really top players. The kids can cover.

im working in cardiff and a lad who is a cardiff city fan has said if they dont go up villa are to have a bid for jay bothroyd accepted as they need cash and we are intrested

Well smart-arse, show me where it says Ure are interested in him.

Just in case you are not sure, it says he would like to join them, not that they are after him.

If you read my comments, i said he is probably out of our range, but he has'nt been linked with anyone, and it looks as if he still has'nt, he probably will be though.
