Add another forward and I agree. We need 2 forwards, both who would start.

Mladen Petric... providing Bilic is manager, I doubt O'Neill even knows who Petric is lol.

He has no clue who Falcao is so doubt he does Petric, despite playing against him int eh reserves cup last year I am sure.

Has MON said he doesn't know who Falcao is? Surely he would!

I just want at least two players whose primary attributes are skill, movement and imagination, rather than pace, height, power or stamina.

Ireland would be tempting, but he seems to need to play in a specialist position rather than a conventional 4-4-2. Might be a risk. He's clearly also a bit of an idiot. In priority order:

A forward: Falcao (though not seen enough of him, but strong reputation); Bentdner (seriously); R Keane, Rodallega; Lisandro Lopez (I wish); Bent; Rossi. All worth considering, but none without reservations for me (or where we might not be able to get them).

A creative midfielder: Hleb, Sessegnon (?), Ireland, Kranjkar or Bentley (Spurs may sign someone new in their position); Benayoun; Jurado.

A better holding midfielder: Parker; Toulalan; Vitxel, Defour.

A right back to go straight into the team (not sure who. Perhaps this Manolev, Onouha, Clerc from Lyon?

When linked last summer he denied knowledge of the player, let alone having talk with him.

Around 20th June 2008 - MON - News to me, we will be looking closer to home on south american reports of a deal being done for Falcao.

But that was when he was playing in S America, not the champions league (and against villa last summer)

If we buy a striker it won't be the likes of Falcao - that's far too adventurous.

It will be Zamora, Carlton Cole, Kevin Doyle or Robbie Keane.

We really are that predictable in everything we do.

I'd snap your hands off for Keane of 4 yrs ago, but I have a feeling he's on the downward slope

If Keane can be got for 6-7 million it is worth a go as he is closest to what we need. Would still need another to replace Heskey and Carew though.

Aston Villa duo set for showdown talks over futures
Published 23:00 09/05/10 By James Nursey
Recommend

Unsettled Aston Villa stars Luke Young and Curtis Davies have crunch meetings with club officials this week to determine their futures.

Right-back Young, 30, who used to play for Charlton and Spurs, is set on a return to London after losing his Villa place.

And centre-back Davies, 25, who craves first team football, has also become very frustrated on the sidelines under boss Martin O'Neill.

Now the pair could both be offloaded to help raise funds after Villa posted annual financial losses of £43.7million.

Both Young and Davies would demand hefty fees after joining from Middlesbrough and West Brom for £5m and £10m respectively.

Several other Villa squad players like Nicky Shorey, Steve Sidwell, Wilfred Bouma and Nigel Reo-Coker are all entering the final year of their contracts.

They are also likely to leave regardless of O'Neill's own position but will not command as much as they could be available for free in 12 months.

Young has put his house up for sale after seeing his full-back berth taken by centre-back Carlos Cuellar playing out of position.

While Davies has not played in the Premier League for Villa since August after surgery on his dislocated shoulder.

The England prospect is two games short of a contractual clause kicking in allowing him to negotiate new terms.

Out-of-contract Marlon Harewood is definitely leaving Villa this season irrespective of whether O'Neill stays.

August 23rd.

I thought I'd get that in before the comedy club repeat it ad nauseum.
