I don't think Sidwell can work in a 2 man central midfield.

Along side Milner and NRC I'd imagine he'd be better in a middle 3.

Sidwell was a handy player when he was allowed the responsibility to do nothing - an 'in the hole' player who could pick up the ball between the midfield and strikers.

Give him the task of tackling and being a barrier in midfield and he's useless.

Nice goal against Everton last season though.

I think you're right.

He started most of the game when we had a unbeaten run last season.

I would be happy with £2m for Sidwell, some you win , some you lose.

When we bought him, i thought he was a cracking buy, then he got injured and missed 3/4 mths, and he never seemed to pick up.He has'nt been as big a disaster as some on here think, but time for him to move on.

Ireland at £6m would be a good buy, and gibve us a kind of midfielder we don't have.Chuck in Onohua as well and i would be quite happy, although i can see it being linked to Milner.

Milner to Citteeeeh(sorry Dave), for Onohua and Ireland plus £15m?

Actually, I think Sidwell has been a worse disaster than some on here think...

I agree and said so when he joined and was lauded by most as the answer to Barry, well yeah.

Just another bench warmer on over top wages, who know one will want

Do you fancy finding something that backs up your ridiculous claim?

Which is pretty outlandish even by your own very high standards.

I'd be happy to take £7m for Sidwell and Shorey from Fulham. Cuts the wage bill, generates transfer funds and should see a rise in quality of the squad. Good to see the deadwood being chipped off already.

You'd hope there will be a quick clear out on June 1st, followed by some signings.

We need to be ready at the start of the season, not the start of September. We've seen that not been ready for the start of the season this year cost us 3 valuable point and progress in Europe

Agree. I am not support to have 4-4-2 with 3 attacking midfielders (A.Young, Milner and Downing at the same time). We should have rotation for them some 60 Min some 90 Min to make all of them fresh. If we gonna play 4-4-2 we should compete in the central with 2 Central Midfielder like Petrov(1st choice) and Sidwell or NRC.

If we change to play 4-5-1 then we can have 3 attacking midfields.

Can anyone actually stand the thought of another summer transfer window like the last 3? I can't bear it.

I was underwhelmed, and said so, by the signing of Marlon Harewood, when most were lauding him as the player to finally replace Dwight Yorke.

Nice here in la-la-land isn't it Malcolm?

Scott Parker.
Stephen Ireland.
Craig Bellamy.

That would do and they're not even from over the water.
