I wouldn't be surprised if Young went to Tottenham in the summer anyway after tonight.

thing is Levy runs a very tight ship, with no league position until the very end of the window would he risk big money and then find no CL money if they did not qualify ?

plus with the form of Bale and Lennon where would Young play ?

He's a winger. Tottenham will attempt to buy him come what may.

Not the best logic for a transfer that I've ever heard.

Not the worst either. Tottenham have always had a rep for buying flair when they needed steel - they really did only get better after they bought Palacios.

All I'd ask is who bought Palacios? The current management team, loathsome as they are, didn't make those mistakes that Spurs are famous for.

To be fair Spurs actually have a rep for never buying left-wingers.

It was what Jol and Ramos both wanted but Comoli never bought for them.

The acid test is what happens when Bale is out of form again, or King retires, or he has to replace Woodgate...

To think loads of us sneered when we were linked to him last summer.

Can't say I was that enthused. But I think by then I was so resigned to us signing no-one that he was just another name that flashed up.

Including me. Him and Dunne have really proved me wrong this year.

like to see us move for henry if the money's tight. cost very little, would pay his way in shirt sales. Rather that than pay 10m for someone like  Keane, forlan  or bellamy with a limited shelf life anyway.

Not in wages he wouldn't.
