I think Forlan's getting on a bit now, isn't he?  I think he'd be a short term answer for a season or two, similar to Robbie Keane, so would prefer a younger striker to come in if possible.

Give me Forlan for 2/3 years and i'd be delighted

He's got experience and works hard for the side

I don't care how old he is because we already have young strikers in Gabby and Delfouneso, so the futures covered

Just a thought on Kenwyn Jones: Got everything it takes to be a top striker. Problem is most of the time he looks like he's had a spliff before the game instead of an orange and a cup of tea.
It just needs someone to get inside his head and flip the right switch. Don't think that's MON. Could see them having some right tasty training ground bust-ups.

The circus that own the spammers have stated that all of the squad apart from Parker are for sale, Parker is good but he is 30 or so isn't he, as I said before and I'll stick to my guns here Noble is (will be as good) as Parker and is a lot younger we should stick our neck on the line and do what Man city did to us last year and go in for Noble now before he gets too pricey in the summer. I also think that young Clyne from palace would be worth a punt a fullback that can play both sides (maybe that may confuse mon) looked good against us and surely doesn't want another season fighting relegation. As for Tuncay no,no and no again.
And if that dodgy twat 'arry comes knocking for Nige RC yes please but we want Huddleston in exchange

If one is looking for a young, holding midfield player who is realistically within our range and who MON is going to be interested in (so I am not counting in Xavi here for example), I think O'Hara would be my pick and certainly before Noble. He also seems like a nice, educated guy from having seen him doing the studio bit on Sky a couple of weeks ago and I think that is quite important too...

Agreed.  I'd like Sally Gunnell up there alongside Gabby

I wouldn't say no to O'Hara, but I think he's a year or two off being the finished article.  If the money is tight this summer then fair enough, but if Martin has more reasonable funds to play with I'd like to see us get a player around to the 25 years old mark who can have a more instant impact!

Forlan has just turned 30 according to Wiki.

If ppl are happy to put forward the likes of Berbatov, Keane and Parker all of whom are currently 29 years old, then you cant really rule out Forlan who is only a few months older.

Like I said before though, I dont think he has any need or desire to come back to PL, and I'd be even more surprised if MON went in for him. I just want a striker who can score goals, create chances and not scared to take a shot from outside the box. Is that too much to ask for?!

Just about to turn 31 in a few weeks.

I think he's one that's suited to Spanish football rather than the hurly burly of the Prem. I wouldn't mind too much if we did sign him but would hope for someone else to be honest.

Strikers:
Olic (Bayern Munchen)
Kalanic (Blackburn)
Podolski (Koln)

Midfielders:
Get rid of Sidwell, Osbourne. Salifou
Bring in NRC (yes, our very own), O'Hara, Dorrans.

Arsenal are signing Chamakh, so Eduardo should be available.

I think he’d be perfect for us, a box finisher and a classy forward, his goal return has been hampered by limited first team chances post-injury and a lot of time spent out on the left wing (where he’s capable, but not gonna score as much there).

I reckon given a run of games in a team like ours he’d score hatfuls. He'd also give us a link between the midfield and Gabby.

Arsenal pay quite low in comparison to the rest of the 'Sky 4' and Citeh (Cesc is on less than John Utaka’s 80k according to reports) so you’d imagine Eduardo would only be on 40-50k a week.

Doubt Eduardo would want to play here considering the sick chants we have aimed at him since his leg break.

Decent shout if he's available - and he's only about 24-25, isn't he?
