Shiny new manager please. Preferably one with a little less of the old huff, puff and hoof!

Joe Cole?

Really we need a top forward and a top quality midfield flair player. Someone in midfield with good movement and cuteness, guile, flair, to go well with Milners industry, and the pace of our widemen.

Our game can too often get minimalised to just wide play, because no one in the centre picks up space in wholes, or the two front men don't make enough movement.

A decent attacking right back would be good too.

Swap Heskey and some magic beans for Oscar Cardozo, then use the Jedi Mind Trick to swap Sidwell for Joao Moutinho. Sorted.

"Russian side CSKA Moscow are set to bid £9m for Liverpool's Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun."

From the NOTW (via BBC Gossip page).

If he is available for £9m he'd be an ideal start for our Summer spending in my opinion.

As if Joe Cole would even consider signing for us for one nano second.

Some of the suggestions for players on this thread are pure fantasy football.

We'll end up with Bobby fucking Zamora or Carlton bastard Cole.

Either Bobby fucking Zamora or Carlton bastard Cole will be a signficant upgrade on Emile barndoor Heskey or the John disintrested Carew (excpet for his twin brother who can be bothered).

Carlton Cole won't leave if they are relegated and I seriously hope MON won't spend 8million or so on the nearly 30 year old Zamora or the nearly 30 year old Robbie Keane.

We need whoever we buy to be in the Milner, Young mould to have a re sale value and not need replacing in 2-3 years time when over the hill.

I would go all fantasy manager this summer and let 6-7 go and try to replace them with younger, hungrier and more skillful players.

We will though, end up with Zamora, Scott Parker and a full back that we were interested in 3 years ago for half the price.

There are some great middle names for some of these players.

Robbie Muchtravelled Keane would be a good start for me. The guy would offer us something different than what we have.

We've not had someone who can point his finger and shake his head quite so well since Mark Kinsella.

I'm not sure what else he'd bring though.

I don't think Big Brad's had a poor season, but he's certainly nowhere near as influential as he once was. I think next season has to be the time to start giving Little Brad a chance more often or replacing Big Brad entirely with a brand spanking new number 1. And my current choice for that would be Paul Robinson.

I have to say, I don't disagree at all. Major kudos to him for pulling it around after his Carson period.

And Carson will absolutely have benefited from a season out of the spotlight with West Brom too. Still think he might struggle next season, but as we've seen with Hart at Blose, a decent keeper in an average side can make a hell of a difference. No surprise they got hammered by Citeh without him.

Which leads me on to another tangent... I hate the loaning of players from one PL club to another. Like my random moaning about the increasing number of substitutes, this is because it just allows the bigger, richer clubs to stockpile players like their Panini sticker counterparts. But again, I don't expect this to change any time soon.
