I know, but he would be great in a Villa Shirt and offer us something that we don't have at all.

I'd take a gamble on Kris Boyd. He'd be a free transfer, yes he's scored his goals in a mediocre league, but in fairness, he does seem to know where the net is and has done it season after season.

After all, Tesco took a gamble on Graham Dorrans from Livingston and he looks like a very good player. Whether he'd hack it in the Premier is another matter but until he plays there, we'll never know.

think we may be surprised as to who will be choosing our potential players next season, so foreign based players may be on the horizon *prays*

This the O'Neill to Anfield >Mark Hughes to us rumour, Greg?

Or are we making the General DOF?

I think he'll go for Ireland and Bellamy and if he cannot get either of those then he'd look abroad.

I don't think we will see any earth shattering expensive buys. A clear out of Harewood and the like and in something along the lines of these possibilities:-
GK: Westwood (Coventry)
FB: Clyne (Crystal Palace)
MF: Mohamed Diame (Wigan)
FWD: Doyle (Wolves)

If we sell either Heskey or Carew then another foward of similiar bulk.

Villa linked with striker swoop

Aston Villa, 12:18, March 15, 2010

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is being linked with a summer move for Fenerbahce striker Dani Guiza.
The Spain international is keen to quit Turkey in the summer and although the player would prefer a return to his homeland, O'Neill hopes to persuade him to move to England instead.

The 29-year-old has impressed with Fener when bagging 19 goals in 45 appearances but he is keen to move on after two years in Turkey and O'Neill is ready to swoop.

Guiza has scored goals wherever he has played and O'Neill is keen to sign him for Villa which would in turn cast doubts over the future of Emile Heskey and John Carew.

Ireland and Bellamy would both be excellent pick ups.

I think so too and I know O’Neill would prefer to stay with British based players and looking around, those two would appear some of the few that we could get, who would also improve the squad and first XI

Bellamy has been really impressive every time I’ve seen him and he can play on the wing too, which is always useful.

Hate Bellamy, but would love him in a Villa shirt. That kind of player.

Ireland would be a top signing. Those two and another winger would be a good summer.

Don't understand people mentioning Jamie O'Hara. I'd like to think we'd aim a bit higher than a Spurs reject who's not actually that good.

What a load of old tosh that is, so because Jamie O'Hara cant dislodge the likes of Luka Modric and Nico Kranjcar  from Tottenham's team that makes him a "Spurs reject" does it, O'Hara loves playing regular  football it was his desire to play  regularly that resulted in the loan move to Portsmouth, Spurs didn't "ship him out" due to any lack of ability etc.

Oh and you were also totally wrong with your assessment of him as a player, O'Hara is a cracking little player, he has lots of talent and vision, and gives his all every time he plays.
