Right, off to Paris for a couple of days. Saying au revoir to the internet, and this blasted, fruitless thread. I HOPE upon my return there'll be a signing announced, and that it won't be a ludicrous fee, pissed up the wall on McGeady.

If I come back to naff all, I will be very disappointed.

Cue disappointment.

au revoir Tom

Fingers croosed for you, well actually fingers crossed for all of us

Even though I'm not a fan of playing Cuellar at RB, and that Cuellar isn't good coming forward but he makes us much better defensively.

Debatable.

there's nothing to debate. My statement is a fact, look at the stats.

There are many variables that affect the outcome of a football match, so simply looking at the results/goals conceded  in games in which Cuellar has played at right back and those in which he hasn't seems a crude method of analysis.

I remember several occasions where Cuellar's positioning cost us a goal last season.

Can I use evidence that I have seen with my own eyes, or do I have to rely solely on numbers and statistics?

I love Carlos but he was utterly shite against Jarvis in the Wolves game for example.

Luke seems to be getting a bit of stick for being part of the 7-1 at Chelsea when if you look at when he had a regular run of games last season our defensive stats were very good and against top quality opposition too.

Luke was a fundamental part of our best run at the back when Collins was out and Carlos was immense in the centre with Dunne.

Looks like Liverpool could have £150m to spend this month If they accept Chinese bid as rePorted on sky- that would really test us as Ashley young is reportedly top of hodgsons targets , either way with a decent manager and that sort of cash you would expect them to pull away from us.

Looking more like a battle with everton for 7th and 8th places next season.

To be fair, we were gash in both games against Wolves and were lucky to walk away with two draws.

Sounds to me like these Chinese are trying to put pressure on the board to accept the bid sharpish.

Hopefully they will, and then realise that actually it's Carson Yeung's postman brother, who hasn't got a pot to piss in.

I do wonder how this deal is going to affect Birmingham City's 1 billion strong fanbase. Probably not at all, given their glittering heritage.

Wasn't jarvis who caught my eye against us, it was Doyle who looked very good against us and led the line superbly with his control and hold up play.

I think Wolves were lucky in both games to be honest. We were below par but still worth the win in both fixtures.

The annoying thing was we were taking them apart in both games until we had mindfarts and lost the plot. It was like watching a slow motion car accident.

Apparently the Chinese bid at Liverpool is backed by the Chinese government which will make Liverpool right up there financially competing with city and Chelsea-puts the top 4 out of our reach in my opinion as we cannot financially compete with those clubs.

They can all still only put 11 men on the pitch.

Never give up.

I must have been watching different games. The away game on a crazy windy day was the worst Villa performance I've seen in years. And yes, I know we scored first but it was completely against the run of play. Horrible stuff.

I very much doubt it. And if they were serious about buying Liverpool they would have made a bid instead of "registering an interest". He's just another Chinese chancer by the sounds of it.

Agree maz, at home against wolves we started so well I though we would get 5 or 6 , and then we just seemed to implode.

The away game sidwell conceded a stupid penalty near the end to cost us , but we didn't play well.

Sky are reporting the Chinese bid as close to being accepted and finance there to build new stadium- they have the backing that's for sure.

Mirror reckons Hughes has blocked the Sidwell purchase, but wants Young instead. Gah!

I'm not denying it was horrible, I just dont agree we were lucky to walk away with a draw in either game. We could have easily won both despite playing shite.
