If mon offered £16m for Carlton cole then I'd be mortified , that along with the £15m down the pan on heskey would be the final straw!

If he did that I can offer you a personal guarantee that the front page of every newspaper will be:

'VILLA MANAGER TORTURED AND SLAIN BY IRATE SCOTSMAN'

Mortified does not begin to describe how angry I'd be. Incandescent sounds more like it.

I look forward to the double signings of Cole and McGeady.

I don't know why. I'll have the advantage of being in jail or under a bridge. Little chance of Sky TV or trips to VP.

You on the other hand will have to watch them week in week out!

You forget, I'll have plunged to a watery grave off the Forth if we sign McGeady.

Not sure what I'll do if Cole signs, though. I can't think of any course of action drastic enough to express my horror at the prospect.

Sun Headline, July 2011.  "Two, twenty goal a season strikers leave Capello with a problem"  After a season of watching Heskey and Carlton Cole bang in goals for the newly crowned champions Villa, Capello stated he faced a difficult decision for the England squad.  "I cant risk upsetting the Premier leagues top striker (Agbonlahor who netted 30), so who out of Cole and Heskey do I drop?, Can I really play three up front in internationals like we see at Villa Park?"  Jose Mourinho, Citys fifth manager in under 12 months has made both Heskey and Cole targets as he plots to get City back into the Premiership.  ONeill has stated that the £50million price tags for each player mentioned are not enough, and hopes to hold "amicable talks" with each player later this week.

It's a hell of an image. MON playing anything other than 4-4-2? That's just silly.

Sorry.  Life is tough at home and at work, and im sure I have it easy compared to other people.  I bloody love football, those 90 minutes of concentrating on the game only, and I love going to Villa, and watching our lads play.  Its not perfect, we are not the perfect team, but I do feel there is some out of proportion doom laden posts sometime.

I'd admit I'll be bloody pissed off if we signed either of those but it's merely pacing around the house emitting some form of primal scream.

I'll still be following them like the sucker I am. Even worse I'll probably give those players my support.

Now, any promising links or ITKs?

Hear hear (or possibly here here), Moet. People who get more worked up about football than anything else don't realise how lucky they are.

Im looking at my post above, and would like to add "However, if Villa sign De Jong, Hart, Onuha while keeping Milner, I would not argue".  I have changed my mind about Parker.  I really rate him and could see him fitting for us, but the high wages and older age is becoming a barrier for me.  But not as big a barrier as giving our hard earned cash to that twat of an owner.  There is a saying about on fire and pissing that jumps to mind

Qoute from Sandman "I'll still be following them like the sucker I am. Even worse I'll probably give those players my support."

You will have the dilemma of which shirt to wear, Home with Heskey on the back or away with Cole

Having read sullivans statement to west ham fans there is no way he possibly sell Parker now , he would be breaking every promise he's just made them and would be lynched.

In this case fair play to Sullivan - I admire his comments today.

Oh dear. 498 pages into the transfer thread, 17 days to go and were the only premier league team not to have made signings. Have we even made a concrete bid? bloody knickers.
My highlights of the typical villa summer so far have probably been huntelaar, arteta and flamini. low points have been not getting der hammer, joe cole, martin petrov or henry on free transfers.
Standard boring boring MON enquiries keane and mcgeady look most likely.

The only thing im looking forward to next season is the (hopeful) emergence of our younger lads. Ive got big hopes for bannan, clark, albrighton, delfounso, lichaj and delph.  MON is a transfer market retard.

I - indeed, with Petrov and Dunne, their reading of the game, already a strength, has improved with age.

Petrov offers us nothing now, apart from watching the game pass him by as he reads it.He would not get into any of the top eight sides.Lets hope he gets his move to Fulham or Bolton.

Another person that watches football with their eyes closed.

Absolutely.  Whilst I can understand people criticising his stamina to say he cannot read the game is mental in my opinion.  I think the stamina thing is more due to his work-rate and the formation too.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I'm not sure how I feel so far. I don't seem too bothered on the outside and I don't think I am.

However, I have been much more irritable lately and more argumentative on here. I think it stems from not signing someone.

Two weeks to the season starts mind.
