greg, you dont really know what offers are on the table and I dont see why we cant sell the fringe players. You keep rattling that cage but I dont see why. As if players have never took pay cuts to move.

They do get signing fees and longer contracts at their new clubs to balance it out. Plus they'll actually play football which I presume has some importance to them.

Plus I'm pretty sure that, as 'the six' have not requested moves, they will also be entitled to some sort of pay-off/compensation for the remainder of their contract by Villa. Let's just see who's left in September. Sidwell's halfway out the door already, Luke's made his position pretty clear if, as I've read, he hasn't gone to Ireland. These players will not be on outrageous wages and many of them will be attractive to PL clubs.

To go back to my original point, if Villa are looking at managing salaries, I don't see a better approach than looking to move on those players who are drawing a wage but not playing regularly. Without harming the quality of the squad, anyway.

It's beginning to get ugly

I'm not so sure. My guess is the agent is pushing for the deal, saying Milner will not sign a new contract, therefore forcing the move. Whether or not Milner is aware of this is another matter.

The impression I get from the piece is that Milner is spitting with rage and must, therefore, be aware.

I thought Milner was represented by the PFA rather than an agent.....am i wrong or has this changed?

This thread has been light on songs again - thankfully I am here, with this top dollar. To the tune of Abba's 'Take a Chance on Me':

If you're Jimmy Mills
And you leave the Vills
Just get out of town
You're a bloody clown

When you come back, we will boo
Cos you let us down
I just want your face to go
Cos I'm feeling down

(Shout all the words really loudly, before falling to your knees and humming)

We pay for Sidwell 5 million  ?

And Flamini could be 4 million ?

get him in...  Its no brainer ..  Add a Ireland and Keane ( obvioulsy MON wants them) , Clyne at RB and a few others , it starts to look a better team than last season.

Its a no brainer in terms of fee, but I bet their wage packets are MILES apart

Of the two U19 England matches i've watched so far I can see why no club other than Blose seem interested in Clyne. He's been woeful

I was saying to a mate i'd sign him a while back, but I think that was based purely on the games against Palace last season. He obviously isnt that good every week

I have family who are season ticket holders at Palace,  and they all really rate him ..     I wouldnt mind risking him for 2 million or there is that Cardiff kid .   The paper was saying only Defonz , Clyne , Nouble and some Manu player could make it in the Prem from that U19 England team

Imagine our team if we did get them four?

Friedel
Cuellar - Collins - Dunne - Warnock
Hleb - Ireland - Flamini - Ashley
Keane - Gabby

On paper looks immense, we'd play some nice stuff, have three real creative players and some established options (Petrov, Downing and Carew) to rotate on the bench.

Change Cuellar for Collins and bring in a proper RB , yes....

Nice try, Risso - but I have grown up now and moved above away from bottom seeds. I am now very mature (and sexy).
