I'm convinced that Man City are not only intent on buying up the best possible players but taking the best players of their rivals.

I really hate the direction football is going.

think that is their plan and the greedy players go there there pick up massive wages but not playing, easy money but is that really satisfaction ?

I think they will go very very close to winning the league this year personally.

I'll disagree with you east and say they will struggle to break the top two though a weakened Arsenal and Liverpool together with some other very average teams around the top 6 or so, including us, does mean I think that they will get top 4. Or perhaps I just don't want to admit you're probably right!!

I honestly dont think they'll be top 4. I think their squad will be a pile up with very little cohesion but we'll see.

Just seen Joe Cole on the box. He really is as thick as Shaggy's sandwich isnt he?

Same.

If it was as simple as signing 11 good players for every position (plus subs), throwing it all together and winning trophies many other sides would have done it before them.

That approach has been far from foolproof in the past.

There has to be some nod to team dynamic, and explains why not always the best teams on paper win the biggest prizes. Our successful sides in days gone by are proof of that, and there are far more recent examples.

Donevan isn't that good.

Don't get why people make a big deal about Milner signing a new contract, fact is he still has two years on his current one, sure we don't want him to leave on a free, but we could hold onto to him for at least two more years, during which time Milner is only going to improve, and might well help us improve.  Its a toss up between taking the money and hoping we can get the right replacements, or holding on to the player, and try to get the benefits, and see where we stand in two years.

If he doesnt sign a new contract he can walk away for nothing in two years. Thats why fans want to him to sign, Also it would put all the talk of him leaving to bed or at least massively strengthen our bargaining hand.

Right I've been in Tenerife for a week. Been reading the Sun (I know) every other day.

I've caught up a fair bit, but I take it Citeh's interest in Milner has cooled?

What about Robbie Keane, no advancement there?

Is Clyne on his way to SHA? A shame if so.

Not a fcuking thing.

Except a retro 2005/06 kit relaunch.

Because 2005/06 was such a vintage year for us, obv.

Are we going to ignore the links in Italy and France for former Arse midfielder Mathieu Flamini?
Apparently Milan don't want him but we and newly promoted Newcastle do.

Flamini would be a valuable asset to Villa, flair, and would be great knocking in balls for Gabby and Keane ............

Flamini - yes would be a great addition but MON will not buy him and his wages are too much for us!!

Let me start by saying that when MON became our manager that he was definetly the right man for the club at that time, but right now I am not so sure!

I think that we now need to decide what to do with Milner either accept the bid or not, I am getting so fed up of will he, wont he,  have we not got a Manager who can make a decision instead of this constant dithering during each transfer window.

With regards to the other players who MON said can go it is obvious that when we sign players that we pay over the odds in wages, and that is why they will not move on, so therefore we have to blame MON again for sanctioning the salaries for these players!! we will eventually have to pay these unwanted players to leave!!

let us not forget that when we signed Heskey who I believe at the time was 30 we gave him a 4 year contract - no other club would do that - contract for any player 30 +should have been 2 years max and then renew for a further year if players is doing ok

I dont blame Mr Lerner for is stance on the sell to buy policy if that is the case

Even though I have renewed my season ticket the way I feel right now is one of frustration - and to be honest I think that after 20+ years of having a season ticket this season could be my last!!! unless there are positive changes made

Rant over with now, and now I can start to work
