Maybe Birmingham International was closed this evening?

Maybe he just wanted to take in the famous M6 heavy traffic on his way to Bodymoor Heath.

Hmmm. I wonder where he's going.

AC Milan Striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Arrives At Manchester Airport - Report

AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has arrived at Manchester airport and is set for transfer talks with either Manchester United or Manchester City, according to talkSPORT.

The 26-year-old Netherlands international was previously linked with a move to either Aston Villa or Tottenham following last week's admission by AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani that he would be sold to a Premier League side.

Although both forwards were on the fringes of first team action, Manchester City have already let Valeri Bojinov and Benjani leave Eastlands, and have been in search of a player to add to their forward line since the beginning of the transfer window, having already been linked with Liverpool's Fernando Torres and Wolfburg's Edin Dzeko.

Manchester United, however, have already bolstered their forward line with the signing of Mexican striker Javier Hernandez from Guadalajara on May 27, following the granting of a work permit.

Huntelaar made four appearances for the Dutch during their World Cup campaign, scoring the winning goal in their 2-1 group stages win over Cameroon at Green Point Stadium.

Agent denied Frey Villa Move

Quote
Fiorentina  goalkeeper Sebastien Frey's agent, Giovanni Branchini, has cooled speculation about his client potentially making a move to Aston Villa.

The 30-year-old shot-stopper has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Artemio Franchi for some time now, and the speculation only intensified when his club captured Artur Boruc from Celtic for an undisclosed fee.

The arrival of the Poland international poses a threat to the former Parma custodian, who has been tipped to lose his status as the No.1 for the Florence-based club.

The Frenchman had consequently been linked with a move to Aston Villa, amidst previously reported interest from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

"Aston Villa has never spoken with Fiorentina for Frey," Branchini told violanews.com.

"I think they are the usual rumours of someone who likes to say these things without having evidence.

"Frey remains in Florence, despite all that has happened and despite everything. I think he has already shown how much he loves Florence and Fiorentina."

Pantaleo Corvino, the sporting director of the Italian outfit, echoed that assessment, explaining that the arrival of Boruc does not necessarily mean that Frey is headed through the exit door.

"I got Boruc because Frey has a buy-out clause and he could use it," he said. "I followed Artur for a long time, but Celtic asked for €10 million [£8.5m], then the price dropped and his agent called me and I didn't think twice.

"I know that Boruc was also wanted by English clubs but he has always wanted Florence.

"At an important club like Fiorentina it is normal that there are more important players in the same role. Coach [Sinisa] Mihailovic had asked for another goalkeeper of high quality besides Frey."

just to confirm if the manager sees a player not trying to his desired level you still want him to be picked because you like him, is that correct ?

I mean the manager sees him most days in training, sees his attitude, maybe spoken to him and would have the best idea about him.

Our manager is not afraid to drop so called crowd favourites for his own reasons, he is strong enough not to worry what you and others may say or even make up in your own mind.

right....so i posted a few transfer stories for the populus. and richard launched into an abusive, 'i'm a massive villa fan compared to yow'  tirade and its my fault? i wasn't abusive throughtout, and despite the fact that that sort of stuff is against your own rules here, you never picked him up once. read it back, i didn't swear, or provoke. i didn't even talk to him until he started on me. to top it all he admitted at the end he only came on to wind me up.

I'm very sorry

thats fair enough, but i'm not sure its entirely fair to judge a player if he's picked in the wrong position, and he picks his own favourites even when they're not performing

I can't really see where Greg's at fault here. He's on a downer like Leonard Cohen on a Helter Skelter, for sure, but that's not against the rules is it?

Carlos is playing a risky game. Though perhaps not as risky as his passing.

An egotist like MON could interpret that as being told what to do.

Still, if it means that CC doesn't play right back next year- due to MON taking the hint or just plain ostracising him altogether- it might just be worth it.

I think he's more than covered his tracks with his comments about playing in any position and where ever MON wants him to play. Brilliant attitude, as usual. I'd be very upset to lose him as he's a superb centre half.

Entering into the fifth season of our rebirth/ rebranding  under MON and RL, I'd have hoped that players like Joe Cole and Huntelaar might be semi-realistic targets.

Sad to see us linked with the kind of dross that we'd have probably turned our noses up at back in 2006.

Summed up perfectly for me

4 years on and we are looking at the same mould of player as usual - not a single name linked where you would think "exciting times ahead"

I am not asking for a circus signing but just a little imagination thats all - God this is so mindnumbingly boring and regrettably predictable

Agree with the two Gentlemen above.
Did we really envisage dross like Balamory's Edie McCreedie and that past it Spurs bloke when Randy took over?

Proud history.
So-so future.

We haven't made a single ambitious signing in the Randy era.

We've made some decent ones, some very good ones, and the odd shit one, but we haven't made a single one we couldn't theoretically have signed pre 2006.
