The more tactile approach (taken by me) is to speak with the likes of Dave, Mac and Percy at home and away games (or in the case of Dave, at Wembley where he looked terribly lost  :) )

There are plenty of fans here who go week in, week out, who live the other end of the country. There are plenty who live just round the corner but rarely go. There are plenty who give it up for years on end, after having "put in a shift" years previously. There are lots who would love to go, but can't because they dont have the money, or have other commitments.

The point is, we're all Villa fans, or we wouldn't be spending ages on here wittering on about it.

It really doesn't matter how often people go, and it is none of our business to call them on it and demand to know why they don't. That's why the "better fan than you" thing is against the site rules.

It is really boring to see it getting dragged up on a transfer thread (involving the same people as usual), so can we please leave it now, and get on with discussing the transfer market?

OK then, what are we actually EXPECTING to happen?  Rather than do the usual and give my preferred signings and an income/expenditure calculation, here's what I think Martin is going to do:-

1.  Sign Keane for probably around £8m.  This one should happen soonish
2.  Milner goes with Ireland coming in in part exchange.  Probably £16m to us in the balance and done during a hectic few days after he comes back to training.
3.  Not part of the Milner deal, but we go back to City and buy Onouha late in the window for £4-5m.
4.  With the links to McGeady and Bently, another wideman may be on the cards, but I think he'll judge Albrighton and Downing's pre-season form first and maybe not bother.
5.  Another fullback that comes pretty much as a surprise from a PL club.  Maybe Konchesky.
6.  NRC stays.  Unfortunately, so does Heskey although he gets nowhere near the 1st team - next seasons Harewood.  

Again, that's not what I'd do, but what I'm expecting to happen.  Generally OK by me, although I'd also prefer a new defensive midfielder.

first game probably 75. went regularly from about the end of barton onwards. Never been a fan of internet social fuckwittery and avoid facebook/twitter etc., like the plague so a piccy of me int gonna happen, but i guess for those who want to its a good idea.

Hasn't Salifou already been released?

 I can't even begin to guess what will happen but I just hope whatever does happen is soon .

I dont know enough about Aiden McGeady in terms of having seen him as is he worth 10m - but what worries me is value for money based on what we have seen from "the best of Scotland".  

Is he a tricky Joe Cole esk type midfielder??

If he is not a player that will make a big impact why not just bring through Albrighton who I do really rate and have seen him play !
