« on: January 02, 2009, 11:41:02 PM »
apologies if posted...

Condolences to the family of Villa fan Ray Callow who died at the wheel of his car after cheering on his beloved Villa.

He collapsed in post match traffic after the 2-2 draw against Arsenal..

My condolences

During the climb back from Div 3 to winning in Rotterdam, we had a core group of season ticket holders in the Witton Lane who tended to get away tickets together. I'm sure its the same today.

One group, a father and 2 sons grew up around us, but sadly, 3 matches away from Rotterdam the father died, I think at Villa Park.

Its so sad when that happens even if they no doubt remain as Holte Enders in the Sky

I passed a group of people helping someone who had collapsed in his car...
was wondering the other day if he was alright.
Puts football into perspective really doesn't it.
RIP

I saw the paramedics heading towards the ground with blues and twos and wondered what was up.

I noticed from the article that his wife said she would find it difficult to carry on going to games without him but would have to get on with it. I found that interesting. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I was in the same situation and whether i'd be able to go at all. Not for a while anyway.

2 people had heart attacks after the game against Arsenal.

I've heard one was Frank the Landlord of the Selly Park Tavern. Nice pub.
