Hi folks

Once again we're putting round the begging bowl.  Every time that we’ve done this I’ve never failed to be amazed by the generosity of the readers (not just the posters) of this site.

Why should you donate?

At the moment it costs around £1,250 per year just for the dedicated server. The adverts that we carry on this site contribute a little to this total but not enough.  Without donations, the Heroes and Villains site would not be able to continue.  If you get enjoyment out of the website and its community, then why not contribute a little something back, to help keep it running?

Your contributions will help us plan which way to go.

Does the site make a profit and if so what happens to it?

No it doesn’t, not at the present anyway, and if it did any surplus would be carried forward to the next year to cover running costs.

Okay, I’m convinced, how do I make a donation?

Donations can be made via Credit or Debit cards (PayPal/Nochex) by following the link on the left hand side. If you'd prefer to donate by cheque or cash, please PM Mac/Martin

How much should l donate?

That is entirely up to you to decide.  Whilst we’re not completely swayed about having a minimum donation, the donations are for a reason, to keep the site going. People should donate what they think this site is worth to them. For some that will be more than others, and it doesn't make higher donators better than somebody else.

That said, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest £13 (£1 per month plus £1 PayPal/Nochex transaction charge).  Obviously if you want to donate (a lot) more please feel free.

Do l get any benefits from donating?

Well, apart from an almost visible warm glow, as a way of thanking donators, you’ll have the legendary Golden Muppet status bestowed on you (don't forget to pm Martin with your username so we can identify donators).  This will be displayed under your rank for all to see.  Additionally you’ll have access to the private Golden Muppets forum.  We will be looking at adding further benefits later on in the year.

I can't help feeling that golden muppethood has lost some of its exclusivity.  Now there is no annual bestowal of the title, soon everyone will be a golden muppet.
