Interestingly whenever we have had vertical stripes we have won something or at least got to the final.

Looking at those kits, 1957 - FA Cup, 1982 (away kit) European Cup, 1987/88 Promotion and 2000 FA Cup Runner Up.

This is the first season since then we've had a stirpy kit *Praying emoticon*
not forgetting 1994

Of course.  Not a bad omen is it ?

We just need to play someone in red in the final so we wear our away kit.  Middlesborough will do  [-o<

i think aston villa will win the fa cup this season, i have this feeling. but if villa dont win a trophy this or next season, it will be the 1st decade since the club was formed, that the club haven't won a trophy.

I think with the current mood in the club we're bound to win a trophy this season or next and it won't be the Birmingham Senior cup.

That's because we no longer enter the Birmingham Senior Cup!

80-81 - legendary - the greatest
81-83 - classic
83-85 - ok - didnt mind it but not with claret shorts
85-87 - poor - no club badge and obvious relegation shirt
88-89 - terrible - halfs?
89-90 - classic - the platt shirt
90-92 - classic - i did like this one. always think of world cup 90 and inter
92-93 - legendary - the best premierleague top.
93-95 - classic - stripes but i did like it.
95-97- legendary
97-98 - disappointing - needed decent collar. hooped socks not great.
98-99 - disappointing - hated white collar
99-00 - poor  - more blue than claret
00-01 - ok but why with blue shorts?
01-02 - poor its pink! i notice i dont like gregory era shirts for sum reason
02-03 - great shirt, poor season
03-04 - great shirt, great season
04-05 - great shirt, reminiscent of 89-90 platt shirt
05-06- great shirt, poor season, i like the chevrons and vicar collar lol
06-07 - it was ok. nothing more, didnt like claret collar
07-08 - legendary. the best shirt for years. unfortunately we only wear it for one year.

The 1957 FA Cup is a beautiful kit.  It would be fitting to use it as a 3rd kit for certain matches from time to time.  The 1982 away would be great to bring back for Europe.  I just hope we don't have to wait until 2082 to play in Europe.

For me it is the 67-68 kit, classic Villa.
I would love to see this kit reproduced, but with possibly claret socks with light blue hoops.

This one's pretty good, too, and would be my second choice.

Don't agree, I loved that kit.  Much better than the away one, which always puts me in mind of Simon Grayson.

This is the new alleged Villa shirt for the next season.

Apart that it seems fake, it's not bad, but nothing to do indeed with the sober, beautiful kit of the 70's...

I think it looks horrendous. Without that blue stripe it might be okay.
